Depending on your file the metal can come off quickly and there's no fixing it when you've gone too far so file slowly and check often. File the sight only; not the slide. MrPostman Posted June 21, 2016 Share Posted June 21, 2016 Use a block of wood or wood dowel to drive out the front sight, the aluminum punch they provide will leave an aluminum colored spot on the sight if you use it.
