sg1911
I have a stock 9mm RO I am planning to use for steel challenge. The load I am using has a power factor of 128. Recoil is not to bad but muzzle rise causes me loose time realigning my sights. Any recommendations on spring changes or other necessary changes would be greatly appreciated. Bill H
Try putting a 15# or 17# mainspring in. Then probably a 9# recoil spring. You should be good to go.
lucas
Try putting a 15# or 17# mainspring in. Then probably a 9# recoil spring. You should be good to go. After trying a 7#, 8# and 9# spring with a 131 Pf 9mm load, the 8# tracks the best. Try the 8# and 9# in your gun.
sg1911
Thanks for the replies, did you change out the complete mainspring housing and internals or just the mainspring itself?
wgj3
If you dont have to keep the lock, change out all the internals and everything.

RickT
8lb with steel loads of 115pf Ditto. With 19 lb. mainspring. Cycles as far down as a care to go for steel challenge.
sg1911
Do you use a buffer when running reduced power springs?
Aircooled6racer
Hello: Don't use a buffer it is just another thing that can cause problems. Use a 17lb ISMI mainspring, 9lb ISMI recoil spring and call it done. For steel challenge transitions are key for fast times. Thanks, Eric
