chuckpetree
Finally bit the bullet. STI CASPIAN made by Cogan.
Hi-Power Jack
That is a very nice looking piece of equipment. Good luck with it (Glad I'm not competing against that gun).
chuckpetree
Now if only the shooter could ever shoot as well as it does that would be the masterpiece. Thanks Jack
Hi-Power Jack
Even my standard, inexpensive TruBor shoots better than I do .... Your gun would be real overkill.
chuckpetree
Just hope I can do it justice. I have never been one to let my equipment be an excuse in any sport. If I did bad it was always on me. Now after 20 years not competing I am sure it will be me if there is an issue. lol
RippinSVT
Planning to shoot AP with it? If I know anything about C-mores, you'll getting googly eyes at 50 yards trying to center that dot.
toothguy
That's a nice set up. If you were thinking about shooting Action pistol and USPSA you could get one of Protocol Design's shrouds and match the C-more mount pattern, so you could switch back after the Cup. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=187447
chuckpetree
was thinking I needed to discuss that with Warren before next Bianchi. Wrist has me sidelined this year for it.
Alan550
Definitely get a shroud with "wings" for Bianchi Cup stuff. That gun as it stands is considered an "Open Modified" and that category is all but defunct at the Cup. With the shroud & wings, you'll have a top-notch Bianchi Open setup! chuckpetree
Definitely thinking stick shift mount with wings should do. Surprised toolguy has not piped up on this yet. He is probably real busy right now though. Edited March 19, 2016 by chuckpetree
Toolguy
If you do a Stick Shift Barricade Mount you can just take off the wings for USPSA and put them back on for NRA Action. It's about a 3 minute changeover.
chuckpetree
So, I took the Caspian out today. It shoots great. No ftp, fte and piles the empty casing in a neat little pile about a foot in diameter. Cogan did a hell of a job on this one. Now the bad. About half way through the session cmore scope started doing large starburst pattern and would come back once in a while to a dot. Also noticed out of the 4 magazines that fed great none of them would lock the slide back when empty. Looks like more green to finish off the project. chuckpetree
Trigger breaks at about 1.75lbs and comp works great as well. Gun is great accessories need fixed.
Toolguy
That's why no one in Bianchi shoots a Cmore. There are dozens of threads on the Enos Forums about broken Cmores with a myriad of problems. If you look at a slow-mo of a Cmore during the firing sequence it looks like a fish flopping around out of water.
chuckpetree
Yep, guess that new mount and red dot will take care of that when I get the coin.
Bamboo
Do you need the mag/gun set up to lock the slide back? I think in another thread you indicated you had the old style 19 round mags (which are very reliable). When I was using those they never locked back in my guns, but for me in IPSC/USPSA that was a good thing. chuckpetree
Always kind of had my slide lock back. I don't usually count rounds, getting to old to remember what number the last one was anymore.
goldfieldshooter
Chuck Trigger has to above 2 lb. In NRA Action if you have gone to slide lock you have probably made a mistake loading your mags. None of my mags lock back now; after pushing the lever into engagement with my thumb during a string I rounded off the catch.
gm iprod
I took mine out completely. Just don't trust the idiot using it.
