As Alec eluded there is no functional difference except the "M" version is made by the more experienced people and is slightly more consistent with better QC. It makes no difference in USPSA/IDPA type shooting, might make a slight difference for the Bullseye, Bianchi Cup or ICORE hardcores who are top tier.
