I've suspected that there are batch related dimensional issues, maybe due to tooling wear & etc. That is just me speculating though.
Avenida
I know first hand, Canadian distributor changes the extractor spring to wolf before shipping out and they do not sell tanfo springs
Meatpukk
my stock 3 had this issue with s&b ammo. it ran fine on fiochhi, but once I switched to s&b it started choking. I replaced the spring with wolff XP no mods to extractor or anything. It mangled the brass a little, and was slower to feed in the beginning, but after some 500+ rounds it runs fine. Installed 2 this way and never had any problems with battery and extracting. Not sure what that means, but I had one with a shallower spring pocket where the Wolff spring wouldn't go in, and I just clipped one coil off the spring and it's still happy 10k rounds later.
