Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo!

I have a ton of respect for Max, but Jerry is a threat no matter what decade it is. I definetely wouldn't bet on Max over Jerry, but it is possible.

Jake- Man, I thought we were friends. Just joking, Jerry was a great shooter and I wish newer guys in the sport, like yourself, knew and respected what the burner was all about! If he comes back to the Open game, I'd be waiting for him! I love the competition and competitors always want to compete against the best!

Anyway, here is my honest predictions...

Limited- It will be a battle between Robbie and Travis. Both are great shooters and truly understand the game. You can't forgot about the other top Limited guys but I think experience and control always takes over in National/World level matches.

Open- This one I will leave up to you guys. I think the Open title will be a good fight as well. Eric is always a favorite to win. I can't speak for the other guys, but I can assure you that I will be ready!

Production- There is only one word for this Division, DAVE! I'm trying to talk TT into shooting some production next year and give him a run for his money.

Lim-10- Well, we all know this will be basically the same match as the Limited. I think Todd will shoot Open but other than that it will be exactly the same match. My vote goes for TT and Rob again.

Hey Jake,

I know your pulling for me. I was just messing with you.

Like I said, the Burner is on of the best the sport will ever see. Any word on him actually making it back to shoot? I talked to him about a year ago and he wanted to but I never heard anything back.

He is the type of competitor that won't come back unless he has the time to put into it. He has always been a strong competitor and let his shooting do the talking! I def. respect him for that!

Well take care and see you in a couple of weeks in Brighton, MI.

Oh yeah, did you get the class schedule on email?

My bid for nationals this year....

open

1. Max

2. JJ

3. Chris

limited/limited-10

1. Travis

2. Rob

3. Blake

production

1. Dave

2. Angus

3. David O.

revolver

1. Jerry

2. Sam

3. Cliff

maybe? haha, but I'm expecting REALLY stiff competition in limited/limited 10 and the top few in open. With the way Max has been shooting lately, I think he has a good shot at defending his title, along with Travis winning the limited championship. Anyone can tell that his training and hard work has paid off

I've seen the army duo sweep in open and limited at numerous major matches, but maybe this year, they'll take on nationals as well

I predict I will stay up late reading the new Harry Potter book like an unrepentant geek at Nationals. I predict I'll refer to at least one target as, "The Dark Lord" or "Lord Voldemort", most likely in the dark house.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that Squad 2 has more fun than your Squad. :P

I'll predict that the awards will be too long, mostly because I will not have won my division, class, or any stages.

Alright going into Nats it is time to revise my predictions...

Open - This is gonna be tight between Max and JJ. JJ is having a hell of a year, but if Max shoots a solid clean match I don't see anyone beating him. TJ will defientely be right up near the top though.

Limited - This is going to be between Travis, Rob, and TJ. Todd has been really on so far this year so he is definetely a threat. I've watched Travis shoot a lot of matches this year and he keeps getting better. Rob can never be counted out as he always without fail sees his sights for every single shot. I am going to pick Travis for the Limited title.

L10 - This will most likely be between Rob and Travis again, although Sevigny definetely has the chance of an upset. I would never count him out on the 10 round game. I think Travis has a better chance to win this division simply because he doesn't any lose time making reloads. If you are the slightest bit off it adds up real quick when you make 2 or 3 per stage.

Production - Sevigny. I love all you other guys, but you are shooting for 2nd place. There is no one anywhere that can come close to Dave in this division. Dave is putting people at lower percentages than Jerry is in Revolver. That is just scary.

Revolver - I think we all know the answer to this one.

Rob will win limited. Rob will win limited 10.

Eric will win open.

Dave will win production.

Kay will win ladies open.

I feel pretty concrete about these.

Now less than a week away I gotta revamp and update.

Open:

Max, Eric, JJ, Chris Tilley those are the obvious "young guns" expected to be the top four, and my pool money would go to that order. It really looks like M2 has found a high gear that will do it for him this year. Get'R done MAX!!!!

Of course Burner & TJ are wildcards to win the whole things if they show up for Open. I wouldn't want to put my life savings on picking from those four, and JJ & Tilley will be swinging for the fence to boot.

That is a solid top 6.

In Limited I gotta think SmittyFL will break into the top 5 this year, he's there, he just ain't getting the credit yet (kinda like Manny).

But talk about crowded!!!! In the manliest division out there, off the top of my head I came up with 25 serious contenders who should make the top 16 shoot off!!!

I still see TGO as the one to beat, But it's split format so you've got marquee names like TJ and Burner to throw in there as well. Good grief that is a tough division. TGO, TT, Manny, Smitty, TJ, the Burner, Taran, Strader, Voigt, Dave S. (in L10), Estuardo, Matt Burkett, Heatseeker, Scott Warren, Ron Avery, Ted Puente, Gambrell, Koenig, Blake, and Frank Garcia if he's in country. You never know, Max, Graufel, Errol Thomas, Saul Kirsh and Tilley may strap on the iron sighter, they are there anyway, why not shoot it? That is a MONSTER 25 man mosh pit, and I am sure I over looked others in my haste!!!

Limited is tough, tougher I think than even OPen. JMHO

Revo is cajun country and I would not presume to name the contenders.

Production is DS's to run away with but I see certain BE'ers getting within 10% this time. He will have his game face on though getting tuned up for the WS.

btw: No one has mentioned Dave Sevigny in LIM or L10, but if he shoots L10 in the second go 'round, he'll be a factor.

L10 is a rerun of the Limited battle royale, only subtracting the Open specialists and adding Dave S. and a couple other Prod hot shoes.

I think he is going to be in Equador just about the entire month leading up to WS. He is too busy focusing on that to shoot the US Nats.

DP,

I see you don't read my posts... ;)

Probably with good reason. :D

Dave is definetely a dark horse contender in L10.

No, I found it when I was editing, I guess great minds do think alike. I saw him shoot Friday at the FL Open, and I have seen his name at the top of Limited standings at an Area match. He's in there...

Yeah,

I think Sevigny finished 2nd Limited at Fl Open. Now that is pretty good compared to all the Limited shooters there. Plus, he was shooting a 35. He shot with a CR Speed holster and Arrendondo base pads, but he showed me his gun and there was not extra work done. The weight was the same and there was no magwell at all, no brass parts to make it heavier.

Dave's amazing with that basically stock Glock 35 and finishing 2nd Limited at Fl Open.

at the summer blast dave kicked everyones @ss in production. in fact, if you score him in limited he would have come in at 94%. 94% of TT's winning limited score using production gear, minor scoring and 10 round mags is pretty damn amazing (only 1 stage was a real speed shoot that didnt require a reload in production).

he's got a solid shot at winning 2 divisions.

I think I pretty much agree with Jake's predicitions.

Open will be a real close battle between Max and JJ. I think JJ has as much raw talent as anyone in the sport, but he tends to make mistakes more often than Max. My guess is whoever wins will only be 1 or 2 percent ahead of the other, with Chris Tilley and several others on their heals at 95% or so.

Limited this year definitely looks like a three way contest between TGO, TJ, and TT. Robbie can never be ruled out, and I think TJ is real hungry for another world title, in Standard, so he'll be at the top of his game (as when he blew away the field at the Area 4), but it might just be TT's turn at last; he's incredibly consistant, more so than any of the other younger contenders. As many others have mentioned, however, it's an amazing field; there's a dozen shooters who could challenge for the win. Phil's as good as anyone when he's in the groove, Manny seems to thrive on dark horse status, Voigt tends to crank it up a notch at the really big matches, etc. etc. A great race!

Production is Dave's, by 10% or so as usual. I wish Adam Tyc would come over so we could see what he can do, but I guess we'll have to wait for the world shoot to see how much Sevigny beats him by.

And L-10... maybe the best match of all, just because Dave S. is added to the mix. I think Dave has been eagerly awaiting a chance to go up against the other immortals, and if I had to pick a winner I'd go with him, narrowly over TGO, TT, Phil and the other usual suspects. I'm also expecting a good showing from Mike Burrell.

Revolver I don't know much about, aside from the truism that Jerry will win.

And the ladies' contests? Hard to pick; they've been hitting fewer major matches than the guys. Julie G. is at the top of her game though, and I'd expect her to be at or near the top in any division she shoots in.

Good luck all!

Elye A.

At least what I would like to see...

Open: Max

Open Jr: Jake "Bubba" Hicks

Open Lady: Kay

Ltd: Shannon

Ltd Jr: Bronson Collins

Ltd Lady: Renee

L-10: Rob

Production: Mink

Production Jr: Teepy Porter ;)

Production Lady: J-Go

Revo: Cliff, Hop, Carden and Sweeney better than 90% of the Cajun Monster

Revo Jr: Lil' Carmoney

As for me... :( Maybe next year.
