Carpasteis
Once out of 40 rounds the hammer of my custom STI follows the slide and gets stuck in half cocked position. If I re-pull the hammer back, I can shoot it again but nonetheless, 40 rounds later, same thing. Attached are what it looks like after it freezes. It's an gun that I've had for a while and I haven't changed a thing. Just started doing this a couple of weeks ago.
mike cyrwus
get it to someone who can do 1911 triggers.
freakshow10mm
Disconnector or the sear spring might be the culprit.
Roundguy
Funny i just replaced the guts in my Edge for the very same reason. Had hammer follow with the cycle of the slide. New Trigger group kit from Dawson and its back up and running without any problems so far. Lots of wear on the parts i pulled out was past time for tuneup. bountyhunter
Hammer follow on a 1911 that used to work well then comes on gradually may mean wear on the sear face which needs to be "squared up" again. Any gunsmith can fix this easily.
BigGabe
I'd have someone that knows what they are doing check the sear angle and also the hammer full cock notch for wear. Also don't drop the slide on an empty chamber. That will expedite the problem.
anilson
looks like a brazo's trigger kit, if so i would have the sear changed out for a egw hard sear. it will need to be tuned by a good gunsmith

rhebert
The left leg spring controls the sear, the center of the spring controls take up Bend the left leg of the spring forward
BigGabe
The center leg not only controls take up pressure to some extent but also has to do with the disconnector.
