  1. The 2.0 will not be out until sometime in 2021 most likely. We have a lot of R&D coming to the marketplace in the next 6-8 months and the chaos 2.0 is on the list but will take some time.
  2. Funny you did bring any of this up when we spoke a couple weeks ago. Here is a tip for open shooters who buy used guns, don't expect to do zero maintenance.
  3. Thanks Charlie We spend a lot of time on these safeties. My hands don't ride the slide but the shielded feel so good they are my preferred option. We only make the single sided in shielded for that reason.
  4. The Titan SE in discussion here got a PVD gray finish. It went back and forth to coating 3 times. Each time it comes back and does not pass our QC we have to blast it and re polish the flats. We have no control on the coating process today. (working on that). This gun is done and ready to test fire today. Buy the time we add all the extra labor and lost time costs we will just about break even on this pistol. That's was makes Atlas great. If things go wrong we will incur all the extra cost. We will not send out guns that do not pass QC and test fire. The cost that the customer must always incur is time. We are looking at removing the pre-order option to eliminate this problem. The problem this will have create is a loss of the pre-order discount. Adam
  5. We use EGW extractors today in both 9mm and 40 cal The aftecs were great for a long time, but now have issues. The fitting of extractors is complicated. The distance from the FP Stop and the brechface is critical. Not all slides and extractors will match. Extractors should be made to fit slides. We are working on selling these as a pair. Any extractor that works for 50k plus is a good extractor. The tool steel extractors need adjustment more often but can work very well. The spring steel extractors are ideal but they are not made for 9mm and 40 cal today. Our experience with aftecs as of late is failure rates at 4k mark. Side note: Extractors should be fit. If you drop one in and it works for 50k you got lucky. They are the most critical part in the gun and take lots of abuse so checking them often is key. Hope the helps Adam
  6. Rob the reason to buy a Atlas Gun is our service is second to none. We would have gladly worked with you further to find the broken extractor. (1911 extractors have been a weak point of the guns for many years. We are working now to develop the correct extractor made from the correct material.) Lots of gun builders build good guns right now, but we are the only company building 500 plus guns a year and servicing customers guns in two weeks or less (often in one day with quick things). We also pay for air shipping on all service guns both way if under warranty. We put out a service plan for our guns because we want to see the guns for service and keep the running for many years. We started this company to change the way real shooters buy guns and get service. Our goal has been to change the industry for the better. This means better service, better guns, better parts, more education, and faster lead times. We are committed to keeping every single Atlas gun in top working order and continuing to pressure the industry to change for the better. Adam
  7. I was walking around the shop today asking who found a regular guide rod (we don't stock them) and put it in a Titan.
  8. The Atlas Titan and Chaos are hand build custom guns that have only one look and color. Other than that they have all the performance of our custom guns. Custom guns with different cuts and colors take a good bit more time to make. The Titan and Chaos are meant to get the best guns in the hands of shooters at fair prices and quick lead times. These guns are very different that a stock gun from other builders and take over double the amount of time to build. There are only one or two companies in the world who are making guns at this quality level, and no one makes guns like this for the current price and lead time.
  9. All the guns we build have Dawson Tooless guide rods. Post a pic of the GR in your gun.
  10. We are seeing lots of issues with the New Style sti mags in both 9mm and 40cal. The 9mm do not have spacers. We are working on solutions now.
  11. limited run coming of the machines this week
  12. We will have these triggers on our Web store in May Atlasgunworks.com
  13. Get a new Case Guage, short ammo can have higher pressure and in most guns will not feed as well. We load .010 to .015 under the guns max OAL. This gives a buffer or variances. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  14. Yes the Titan get the PT EVO grip We wanted to make the best value gun in the market that was ready to just shoot right out of the box. I have personally wasted lots of time working on and upgrading guns I have owned in the past. The Titan is for shooters who want to spend more time on the range and less time working on their guns. BeerBaron thanks for the post. Everything there is true but the part that has not been said is that the Titan is a Full Custom and hand fit gun. Built the same way our custom guns are built the only difference is the with only trigger insert and magwell choices we can keep the cost down. The gun is under priced at $3599 but we are working hard to drive quality up and price down for the whole industry. The Titan is the first step to help shooter get a really high quality gun with the best customer service in a timely manner. We are working hard to come out with more models that fit shooters needs in 2017. See you on the Range Adam
  15. Here is my 2 cents. (I do have some skin in this) Limited gun like open guns should be built as a system. Limited guns are much simpler without a comp and ports but its still a system. Slide weight, recoil spring, grip pressure, firing pin stop cut, slide to frame fit, grip weight, grip size, dust cover length all make up the system. Almost every shooter will benefit from a steel griped 2011, if the system is set up well. Putting parts together or adding parts to a existing gun may or may not yield good results. Physics would tell us that the gun will recoil less with the added weight lower in the gun. I have had some pros tell me that they can shoot the plastic guns within 5% to 10% of the 2011 guns. If you want to shoot as much as they do you might be able get to that level. Most shooters don't have the time, finances, or drive to get to that level. If a pro shooting a Glock, FNH, or M&P looses a Major by a couple percent they most likely would have won with the 2011. If they win with one of plastic gun they would have been even better with the 2011. The 2011 triggers is where it makes big gains for shooters shooting less then 50k a year. You can train to shoot a glock with a 3lb trigger and be successful, but it takes lots of rounds. Shooting a 2011 with a 2lb trigger takes almost no time to learn and be accurate. We came out with the Titan line because the cost of plastic guns started to get to high. Here's our math DVC $2800 Labor Tune/Trigger $200 $300 Steel Grip $650 $250 SVI trigger $75 $25 Total $3725 $575 We saw that too many shooters were buying STI type guns and dumping $$$$ into them that they would never recover if the gun was sold. The STI gun with just the upgraded parts and the shooter doing the install, is $125 more than a Titan ,which is a custom hand fit gun that comes with our customer service. If you pay us to do the work the Titan is $700 less. Here is why the STI thing can be a bad deal. The resale on a sti dvc with steel grips and svi trigger and trigger/ tune job is a few hundred more dollars then one with nothing done to it. The Titan won't loose value on extra parts, just the gun. Used dvc guns today run in the 2200 zone and you would be lucky to get 50 cents on the dollar on the parts, so a loaded dvc might sell for $2700 a loss of $1000-$1500. Buy a Titan run it for two seasons and sell it for $3k and you spent $600 to shoot a much better gun and with Atlas customer service (we don't have many problems with our guns but if it happens we fix it fast on our dime). Best Adam
  16. We will have romeo mounts on the new website for sale in the spring
  17. If I only had 3k i would buy a good used custom. We often have guns we take in trade that run in the 3k zone.
  18. its still on Sig's corporate website but that doesn't mean much.
  19. Here is a prototype Romeo 3 mount we made. We can produce them if people want them.
  20. If you work the frame then you can put another grip on without redoing all the work. If you work the grip it will only fit on that frame or a frame of very similar size.
  21. Buy once and cry once... (i think that's how it goes) First I would buy what I could afford. Yes you can save some money with lower cost semi manufactured guns. In the end if you can afford it you will end up with a full custom. I would skip the lower cost gun and then having to sell it to fund what you really want. The hand built guns from the top builders are worth it. Make sure what every you buy has a comp that works.
