stinsonbeach
...the flat-out "best" go-long rifle scope? I know there are a lot of variables, but which one can consistently hit the "pie plate" at 1000+? Assuming all else equal.

DocMedic
Popcorn ...bumping the msg count? I think he means he sitting there in his seat waiting for the drama to unfold. And to answer your question. Scope don't make you hit targets, Hell I know a few people that hit targets at 1000 using ironsights. But if your looking for some great glass I would recommend a Schmidt & Bender police Marksman II, 5-25x If money was no object Edited September 8, 2014 by DocMedic

Your gun must be worthy of this before you think about glass. I will agree the S&B is an excellent choice! There are many factors that play into this equation..... stinsonbeach
Thank you & I do know that trying to get a simple answer is sooo far from simple... I just figured I throw it out there. S&B is a logical choice. I have a NF 5.5-24x56 which is a killer, but just wanted everyone's opinion. -jb ps if that's so about "Popcorn" I never heard the reference & THAT, in it's Zen simplicity, is very cool!!! Apologies "SonOfSpartans"...
DocMedic
Your NF is more then enough to hit 1000yard targets. i was hitting 900yards with a 12x Bushnell. At those ranges its about one part Rifle and 2 parts shooter

Gentleman4561
Nightforce is my favorite. But Leupold, US Optics, S&B, Bushnell and Vortex are all good choices.
CJW
I like the NF 5.5–24x myself, but a couple of my buddies are very happy with the new Vortex 4.5–27x. As for ultimate, yeah, S&B is probably the right direction...as long as you don't also need money for boolits.
Wild Gene
I would think the NF. I have used my MVA Buffalo Soule out to 1,000 yards. It's a hoot. You break your shot, eat a sandwich, and wait for the ding.
Stlhead
Wouldn't this circle jerk be better served in the Precision rifle forum?
openclassterror
I think Tasco World Class is the best scope ever was made. You oughten to use one a them deals. Every deer I ever done killed was a half mile or better, and it done jus fine. In fact, it works so good I don't even hafta compensate for bullit drop. NisilS14
Without budget restrictions, I'd go S&B 5-25X56, T. Theta 5-25x56, or kahles k624i. There's so many great choices with such an open ended question
Shooter115
For a budget 1000 yard scope I'd recommend the Sightron SIII 10-50X.

Stlhead
As there is no budget limit why limit yourselves to such low priced options. Why not go straight to the good stuff. S&B PMII 3-27 Hendsolt ZF 3.5-26 Or even why only pick one, get them all.
