Hi-Power Jack
Need to find a load for 147 and autocomp. Autocomp sounds good - you might try some 124's or even 115's to get the port working better.
BritinUSA
4.0 grains AutoComp with Berry's 147 gives me about 132PF out of my XDM 5.25 (OAL 1.130) Edited August 28, 2014 by BritinUSA
colbyjack
I'm going to get some 115/124 for sure. I just have 2k 147 on hand. Powders I got are: American select 1# 3/4# of red dot Clays 2# Autocomp 1# Tightgroup 1# With ports do I want higher power factor, or just slower burning powder? 147's going to slow to work ports as good as the 115? Slow burning powder is what makes a compensator work. Usually lighter bullets and more powder to get the gas really belching through the ports. Don't really know what the magic formula will be with 147's. You just going for minor PF? If so just use some clays or TG with the heavy 147's for a soft shooting gun. Going for MAJOR? load up some 115-124 quality plated or jacketed bullets and pour in the WAC.
rack&roll
"It's done! Thanks for all your input guys!" Mine is identical, but I had it quad-ra-ported. Shoots soft and quick. BTW- Why did you remove the co-witnessing sights? Edited August 30, 2014 by rack&roll
colbyjack
Wanted to see the whole field of view. It's for open class uspsa. I'd leave them on if it's for duty or carry. But competition gun I felt it was too busy and distracting. Wanted to see the target more.

You will really miss those irons when that happens! Just sayin'...
colbyjack
Yeah I hear ya... lol I'm sure it'll happen. But I'm a realist, I suck and will never get out of c class it seems. rack&roll
What keeps the striker block in the slide? There is a small removeable plate over it.
