velo918
I have a CZ Czechmate with a Cheely 90deg mount. At what distance should I zero? Please provide your reasoning with your answer. Thanks
Hi-Power Jack
It doesn't matter, as long as you know where the gun shoots at 5, 15, 25 and 40 yards. Most people tend to sight them in around 15-20 yards for USPSA because mot USPSA targets are 15 - 20 yards. What game/hunting are you shooting? But, you should know where bullets hit at distance and real close. I just set mine in for 30 yards, because I'm shooting some multi-gun matches, with pistol only - most targets seem to be around 30 yards (rifle distance). But, seems to hit a little low at 15 yards. Jaxshooter
I sight mine in at 17 yards. It will hit within + or - 1" out to 50 yards.
mike_pinto
What Jax said. We were playing the other day on our silhouette range with the .308's and I took the Czechmate out just to see. With my load, I held on the back of a Ram target at 200 meters and rang it. Kinda fun. Same setup as you shooting MG115's at 178 PF. Mine is apparently on from 0-200 meters. OPENB
I was told 17 yards was the sweet spot, kinda like the 50/200 for the AR.
Intel6
Back when I was zeroing my 90 degree mount open gun I found 17-18 yards seemed to be the consensus. I zeroed at 18 yards and that worked well for me. Neal in AZ
lvipscshooter
The 17 yard rule seems to work. I have tried that and 25 and it seems that 17 is a little closer to the mark on the up close targets and is almost right on at 25. Past that, the variance increases.
