Butch10
It won't be 115 degrees, so I guess all I can say is....bring it! We'll you guys heard it. If you have any complaints about the stages being too challenging, physical or "hard" you may go directly to John! It's all his fault.
New4John
Wow! Anybody get the tag number of the bus that just hit me? I'll drag a Peterbuilt as long as it's on terra firma & none of this Aussie rappelling nonsense!

MiniUzi
So, how heavy do you "the competitor" think this years skedco should be and how long of a pull? Just curious how you guys feel about it. If you consider yourself one of the more "in shape/fit" shooters coming to the match then I would like to hear from you as well as the youngest smallest shooter that may be in attendance. Let's hear it! I know a few shooters last year opted to not pull it as it was too heavy, had I think a lighter weight, longer distance would be a winning combo. I think it'd be fun to make them pull it a ways, engage some targets and then have to pull it some more.
Bryan 45
Maybe a dummy carry instead? I'm sure we could find a dummy somewhere?
george76904
I didn't find the skedco pull particularly challenging last year, I thought that it was a good weight and distance. It also added a whole other level to the match. Honestly I'm just really excited for the whole match this year!!

davehorn
I'd say I'm about middle of the pack fitness wise, I thought the skedco was just right last year. Then again, once you dropped it, you had to climb on top of the containers and run a bit before getting into the rifle position, so it was more than just the pull. More weight could make it a no go for some and make taking the penalty an easier decision. Personally I'd like to see a longer pull with less weight on it. Light enough that everyone is going to pull it, but far enough that everyone will be huffing and puffing.
Lead-Head
Is there a hill steep enough on the property we could ride it down once we got it started? These winter Olympics have given me lots of ideas. If so, I need to bring my full-body skin suit...to reduce drag. Butch10
WOW! I've seen a lot of different posts from various shooters over the past 6-8 months regarding the "want" for a Schmidt & Bender 3-27X optic. With that being said, I think everyone will be happy to hear that there will be one on the prize table this year. That's almost a $7,000 piece of glass for all you avid long range shooters. Thank you VERY much to Schmidt & Bender for supporting the match again this year! As I mentioned before, there are a lot of REALLY nice products up for grabs this year. AFH
Since the topic has come up in the discussion here and one of our excellent ROs wanted to confirm how the situation is to going to be handled, I want to clarify how start positions/conditions are going to work. The stage descriptions will be followed as written. If the description states that the pistol starts loaded and holstered, your pistol will be fully loaded and holstered. You may not begin the stage with it in any other condition. Once the buzzer goes off, you are free to manipulate your firearms as you see fit as long as it is done safely. So, you can then unload your pistol in a safe manner if you wish. Otherwise, make sure your holster is up to the task of properly restraining the pistol. See you in 5 weeks!! thazlett
I'd put myself on the low end of the physicality scale and I thought the skedco was just fine last year. It actually surprised me how easy it pulled during my run compared to when I tested it ahead of the walk-thru. Buzzer adrenaline I guess. I thought the "Custom" stairway to the top of the Conex box was a bigger challenge with funky angles and different height steps. Seemed more like something you'd find in an old fashioned fun house. Then, if you shot with the RO's there was the lack of any material cover on the bare metal Conex top as you transitioned off the stairs onto the roof. I've learned somewhat how to track my scope reticle correctly when breathing heavy but never practiced all that on longer shots with blistered finger tips. Oh such fond memories of last year's match. I do presume the sun and heat won't play as big a factor this year.

I was on stage 5 last year and getting on and off the conex boxes got a little uncomfortable from about 12-when we finished. Gimme a break youngin'! This old guy would have gladly traded running the hill or all 3 bays on Stg 2 with you, all you had to do was ask... Heat or no heat, this was the BEST match of 2013 and this year's can't get here fast enough. Enough chatting, back to the treadmill and weights. To be fair I ran the bays on stage 2 like 4 times and no treadmill for me only sleep, school, tennis, and if I can get up early enough a run. But sleep often seems to get in the way of that HA HA. I agree hands down best match of 2013...only 5 more weeks till this years! Edited February 20, 2014 by george76904

Mberry
How late is the finish on Sunday? Looks like the last flight home that I could catch would be out of Columbus at 5pm. Will we be shooting 3 stages a day, or shooting 4,4, and 1 on Sunday so folks can catch flights?
AFH
Originally the plan was for 3 stages each day. We are looking at an alternative, but have to sort out some details. The alternative may not work, but give us a couple of days to get back with an answer. Thanks, Andy
