jkelly
It looks like an angry and revenge minded Charger team will be visiting New England next weekend after the Chargers defeat the Colts in Indy. That should be a good game as Chargers seem to be a much better team then they were when met New England in week 2 of this season. Catfish
In a battle of two teams with nagging injuries, San Diego obviously wanted IT more. Good for them. Now we get to sit back and watch the 'boys go to work. Gotta admit I'm not feeling very comfy with this game..... At least Jessica isn't in the stadium. Round_Gun_Shooter
Chargers played a great game. Truly PRICELESS Now Payton can concentrate on his commercials. I think the game next week will be one of the best contests the Pats have had. They better be prepared to play all 4 quarters.
jkelly
Wow, the Giants and Chargers end the Cowboys and Colts seasons, what a couple of tough football games. Both the Patriots and Packers beat next weeks opponents by better then 21 points during week 2 of the regular season but both the Chargers and Giants seem to be much improved. What’s your thought on the Giants-Packers and Patriots-Chargers games? Respectfully, jkelly

jkelly
The Patriots go to 18-0 with a tough win over the 13-6 Chargers in cold and windy Foxborough. The 13-6 Giants beat the 14-4 Packers at Green Bay in overtime. Respectfully, jkelly

AikiDale
STATEMENT FROM PACKERS GENERAL MANAGER TED THOMPSON: Brett Favre has informed us of his intention to retire from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL. He has had one of the greatest careers in the history of the National Football League, and he is able to walk away from the game on his own terms - not many players are able to do that. The Packers owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude. He has given Packers fans 16 years of wonderful memories, a Super Bowl championship among them, that will live on forever. Brett's many accomplishments on the field are legendary. He leaves the game holding virtually every career passing record, plus his consecutive starts streak, which may never be duplicated. The uniqueness of Brett Favre - his personality, charisma and love of the game - undoubtedly will leave him as one of the enduring figures in NFL history. Details of Brett Favre's availability to discuss his decision are still to be determined, and will be announced once set.

AikiDale
Statement from Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy 08/03/2008 Sixteen years after Brett Favre came to the Packers, he is returning for a seventeenth season. He has had a great career with our organization and although we built this year around the assumption that Brett meant what he said about retiring, Brett is coming back. We will welcome him back and turn this situation to our advantage. Frankly, Brett's change of mind put us in a very difficult spot. We now will revise many actions and assumptions about our long-term future, all predicated on Brett's decision last March to retire. As a result of his decision, we invested considerably in a new and different future without Brett and we were obviously moving in that direction. That's why this wasn't easy. Having crossed the Rubicon once when Brett decided to retire, it's very difficult to reorient our plans and cross it again in the opposite direction - but we'll put this to our advantage. Brett will be in camp tomorrow. Although there has been uncertainty regarding Brett's return, Ted Thompson and Coach McCarthy had previously discussed this and have had a plan in place. Coach McCarthy will talk to the team and the quarterbacks about the plan moving forward, and after he has done that we will share it publicly. No matter what, I look forward to another successful season for the Packers and our fans. This has been a tough situation, but the Packers will make the most of it.
