sasquatch981
A while ago, I saw a video here on the forums that "compared" 2 shooters on the same stage. I think one guy was a GM, and the other an A. The camera was stationary, and the background was solid 100%. The shooters though were %50 transparent and they were "overlayed" at the start signal. The video starts at the buzzer so you can see where the GM saves time versus the A guy. The taking of the video I assume can be done with any camera. It is the editor that was used that creates the affect. So with that said, what program is it that I need? Thanks.
staudacher
I have used Corel Video Studio Pro to do video overlays before. Here is a short clip of an overlay I did comparing two different loads in the same gun. video

Chris Keen
I've been using AVS Video Editor. Here's a short example.
staudacher
PowerDirector is also a good software package for doing overlays.
latech15
I have used Windows Movie Maker, Camtasia, Adobe whatever, Pinnacle Studio 12, and 14, final cut pro, and iMovie. For mac, and what I do, iMovie is the tits. For a PC the Pinnacle Studio 14 gets it done. I think you can do the overlay that you describe on either. shred
Windows Movie Maker can do it. At least the older ones could. No idea about the latest "Live" version. The details are buried here under years of posts somewhere.
askomiko
Another fun extra is to add a time, running at the bottom of the screen like in real sports events. Check the real overall time from the scores, and sync it to the last shot. It really pinpoints the places where you lose or gain time. SlowShooter
The new Windows live movie maker cannot do fancy stuff like overlays, picture-in-picture , etc. Good for basic video editing, but not much more. What you are asking for ,in original post, sounds like a video layering effect with semi-transparency. I upgraded to Sony Vegas ( home version) video editor to get such functionality. Picture-in-picture, layering video tracks, alpha blending and green-screen effects. Good audio editor also. For around $100 I think it was a good value. (All my YouTube videos are done with Vegas now) Edited January 11, 2012 by SlowShooter
