Well, the big show starts in just two days. I'll try and update here daily scores and anything else that is "chewy". If there is anything in perticular you guys want to know, I'll try and get it for you and post it. If there is any individual's score you'd like to keep tabs on, I will try and do that (and tell me if you want it posted in the thread or in a PM, your choice).

FYI - the "Q&A" meeting is Thursday, where I'm sure the whole prone issue will be "discussed". If there any questions you'd like for me to ask, I'll see what I can do with that as well. Please be specific.

DougC ... I feel your 9mm pain! Are you getting rebarreled? In 9mm?

BigDave ... my questions for the Powers That Be:

1. Why doesn't NRA do more to promote NRA Action Pistol? Most people have never heard of it, and even shooters in other disciplines have no idea what it's really about.

2. Should local clubs be recognizing "Production" as a division separate from "metallic sights"?

Big Dave,

Thanks for keeping us up on the Bianchi Cup.

My wife let me go to the Cup last year, but not

this year. I realy did enjoy it as well as shooting

at the club just down the road. I don't beleave that

I have ever did so much shooting in just one week.

I, for one will be keeping a close eye on your reports.

Thanks

Gene S

Doug

What sort of ammo are you using, powder bullets, that kind of stuff. 9mm is really accurate. Even my beaten up ol' P9 still hold 2.5" at 50

Is the barrel new, what make? I have not found 9mm to be a temperamental round, they usually work and really well. Talked to Robbie Leatham in the week end and he has been shooting 9mm for some time. His metallic sight gun is fairly cool. (Expensive to I bet) He seemed excited about its accuracy.

Ian Coates 454/27 Mover

G. Jeavons 420/42 Plates

I shot the Mover and Practical today. It wasn't pretty. But, this is a great match and I'm having a good time.

If there is any other perticular scores that anyone wants to see, I'll get them.

I'm doing okay, for me. Actually, on the lower end of my average. Depending on how the Barricade goes tomorrow (I'm squaded to shoot with Mickulek :) ) I might actually post my score up to then.

The more and more I shoot this match, the more and more I understand how absolutely critical trigger control is.

And, one other thing, I realized what really seperates the top shooters here from everyone else. I was talking to some one who just finished the Barricade and I asked how he did. His reply, "down 3 X's". Not 480/45. Down 3 X's. Think about it.

Hey Big Dave,

We all rooting for you hear, if nothing else, glad to hear you are having fun. SRT is gonna be there for the meeting thursday, I wanted to be there, but I have to punch the clock for the man. Remember, be one with the pistol. As Jim says, Just shoot em in the middle.

Nik is right! We want to see BigDave's scores as he goes through the match!

Thanks for the report, BD ... I'm still picking TGO to win Metallic Sight!

I'd like to know if Sevigny and Julie Goloski's Glocks (that they're shooting at the Cup) are genuine, random picks from the assembly line, of if they've had aftermarket match grade barrels installed.

Another Update -

D. Koenig is still clean (960) through the Practical and Barricade. So is Carl Bernosky. There are about 3-4 others who are sitting on 960 still.

Piatt dropped two points on the Practical. Don Golembieski, is down 4 points. Tony Holmes down 6.

Strader shot 44 plates. (metallic)

Two open shooters cleaned the plates this morning.

I shot the Barricade this morning next to Jerry Miculek and Vance Schmidt (sp?). Rob shot in the squad ahead of me. Although I think it was very cool shooting with those folks, those are the same people I wanted to video so I could disect there technique. I actually had an above average day on the Barricade with a 410 (this thing was my nemisis mentally, no more).

Doug, Bruce, Tony, Carl, etc. all shoot Plates this afternoon. I'll give a better update tonight.

Kingman - no problem.

gmiprod - Enrico is down 2 points through the Barricade and Practical. Karl looks to have a very good score (950 something), but I can't recall exactly. I'll get it tonight also.

Rhino - Sveginy and Goloski are both stock, off the line G 34's. Both confirmed this. I had a nice talk with Sveginy (am I spelling this correctly? damn), cool guy.

Agreed - Dave is a terrific guy and an excellent ambassador for the shooting sports.

Man, I have got to get a 34; I could not get my 17 or 19 to consistently shooting inside the A zone (USPSA target) at 50 yards - even when practicing the sport of "bench rest semi auto pistol shooting". My 17 just would not do it. Have not played around with different ammo much.

Dave,

Thanks for the update. As cool as it is to speculate over the top dogs, I'm more interested in how you're doing, as I'm remembering my first Nats experience last year. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you...

Alright, since you asked, I'll put my scores up:

Mover - 404

Practical - 368

Barricade - 410

I can still scrape together a 1600. Plates tomorrow.

Piatt cleaned the plates, I know b/c he had to go back to shoot for X's. Mike Voigt cleaned them also. Vera Koo dropped a couple.

Rob seemed to have shoot an excellent Mover. BTW - for those of you who shoot Metallic Sight on the Barricade and hate it, rest assured that Rob bitches about that match also. We're not alone. I'll get the scores later.

Spook - yes, that thing is huge

I'm working with ShooterGrrl to get some photos (Bianchi porn) put up...

edit: woops - forgot to add: I had the privelage of hanging out for a bit with both Dave Sevigny and Julie Goloski. Both of whom are class acts from the word go. Glock is lucky to have them in their employ, and we, as shooters, are lucky to have them as ambassadors. For anyone who doubts, a Glock can and is being shot very well in this match of ultra tuned, high dollar machinery.

Dave, don't forget to get lots of pictures of Ms. Goloski and let her know that I still want to marry her. I can guarantee cute babies too, but she'll have to chip in for some good shooting genetics since I'm unequipped in that department. ;)

HAHA,

Rhino,

Sorry man, she's already engaged to me. I just wish she knew it. Funny story, at the Cup in 01, i think. She was injured during the shootoffs, piece of lead to her temple area and was bleeding quite a bit. The only form of medical attention near by happened to be ........ my mom. I was shooting junior at the time and mom was there to watch me. Needless to say, she eventually got to the hospital and got stitched up. That night at the awards banquet she came up to our table to thank my mom for her help and I got an amazing flash of that knockout smile. Very pretty lady and very sweet to talk to. Thanks for the update Big Dave, hope you are having much fun.
