Youngeyes
The Democrats would say that the glass is fuller than if the Republican party were in power. The Republicans would say that it is irrelevant because the present administration has changed the way such volume statistics are collected. The philosopher would say that, if the glass was in the forest and no one was there to see it, would it be half anything? The economist would say that, in real terms, the glass is 25% fuller than at the same time last year. The banker would say that the glass has just under 50% of its net worth in liquid assets. The psychiatrist would ask, "What did your mother say about the glass?" The physicist would say that the volume of this cylinder is divided into two equal parts; one a colorless, odorless liquid, the other a colorless, odorless gas. Thus the cylinder is neither full nor empty. Rather, each half of the cylinder is full, one with a gas, one with a liquid. The seasoned drinker would say that the glass doesn't have enough ice in it. Graham Smith
A scientist would ask if it's a regular drinking glass or a measuring glass. If it's just a drinking glass, you will have to transfer the contents to a measuring glass first because you cannot be accurate about how full or empty the glass is unless you actually measure the contents. People make a big mistake in looking at a glass and saying that it's half full or empty because most glasses are narrower at the bottom than at the top, so you can't really gauge how full, or empty, it is by just looking at it. Even if you were to measure the glass and the water in it, you couldn't determine that, unless you took a whole series of measurements so you could calculate the exact volume at different levels. Kevin G.
As an accountant, I couldn't care less about the glass or the water. Where's the receipt and who's is it?
Jim Norman
Why is there any water in my bourbon glass unless it is ice-melt after the bourbon has been drunk (Drank?, Drinked?) maybe there was too much bourbon? Nah!

Team Amish 1
From an inventory standpoint, you can get more annual turnovers if the size of the glass is reduced and thereby optimized. As a matter of fact, it would be much preferable if the smallest possible glass were utilized and only filled at the time of immediate consumption.
