pastorjohnd
Get the free Kindle app. The Kindle store has a lot of freebies, especially if you're looking for classics.
dapribek
The apps Stanza and Free Books should work for you. Hope this helps.
rtr
You can get free issues if you download the Car and Driver app from iTunes.
Modoc
If you like Sci-fi/fantasy, http://www.baen.com/ has a free library to expose authors to new readers and http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/ has a lot of the Baen books also. I am starting to buy them for my I-phone because I have read the free ones and now want the rest of the series This is the literary home of our own Larry Correia (Monster Hunters) Edited June 28, 2011 by Modoc

I got some of the ones that I had downloaded for the Palm to read using Ibooks, but ended up getting Calibre E-book manager to ensure conversion and manage my library. It is a FREE download that works well and is easy to use.

Hamma Slamma
I got my iPad for free and it's worth what I paid for it. Garbage, Junko. Sorry I don't have any advice but it is a soar spot for me right now. First thing I won my whole life and I would have been happier with a can of garbage American beer. Modoc
Merlin, I am using the Calibre - e-book management software (free) to work everything over for the pad now. I do love it for reading, much better than the iPhone. I'll keep looking for other SciFi and keep you posted.
Merlin Orr
OK... I have purchased a bunch of Sci Fi... Is it ethical to swap e books for personal non commercial use between friends?
