98006
Got quite a bit of 40sw brass laying around and would like to shoot it up in some kind of competition setting. So in what competition setting does the 40sw shine?
mlmiller1
.40 is the dominant caliber in uspsa Limited Division shooting. Jump on in, the water is fine! MLM

CMV
You should probably just ship me the brass...will save you from a potential life altering addiction.
GrumpyOne
Reloading 40 S&W brass is notoriously unsafe. Send it to me for proper testing through my guns, and i will send back all that I can after I try them out. 40 S&W can actually be used in SS, Production, Limited, Limited 10, and even Open (if you are willing to be at a disadvantage). G-ManBart
Got quite a bit of 40sw brass laying around and would like to shoot it up in some kind of competition setting. So in what competition setting does the 40sw shine? It's the absolute best choice for Limited Division. It's also equally at home for Limited-10 or Single Stack when loaded to Major. Loaded to Minor for Production it's actually a touch softer than 9mm, but the bullets are more expensive. R,

chirpy
First off, find someone to "roll size" it for you...for a price and then reload it and shoot USPSA Limited or L10. Richard
NoSteel
Getting involved in this sport you will no longer have that problem!!!! Jim Rusert
I would guess at least 8,000 per 5 gallon bucket.
GrumpyOne
Weight them. I think I read somewhere that 100 pieces of 40 brass is 1 lb.
walsh
Attached is a very descriptive file of multiple calibers and weights per round as well as 1 gallon Ziploc bag estimates. The file, which I believe is from here or ARFCOM, reads as follows: If you use 5gal buckets each full one will have... 9MM = 8500-9000 pieces 40 S&W = 7000-7500 pieces 45 ACP = 3800-4000 pieces CASES per POUND: 380: 145.38 40 S&W: 100 30-30: 52 BRASS WEIGHTS.doc

M-Bear
Don't forget to look at IDPA. You can load some real soft 40's and still not even be close to PF.
Erik S.
You should probably just ship me the brass...will save you from a potential life altering addiction. This is meant to be a joke, but 100% true. LOL. If you want to do anything else besides shoot on the weekends, give the brass away!
Bouttime
You will love USPSA, and Limited is a good class to shoot. And some of the guys I shoot with will shoot Limited 10. I shoot Limited 10 with a 45. Getting a production gun this month.

IL-SIG
You can use the M&P 40 in either Limited (with mag extensions) or L-10.
