Caspian or STI frame?

Two different worlds, more parts avail for sti

Caspian can be tuned but mag is finicky.

You do have Bill Sahlberg aka hi capacity mags that

Makes them100% cheaper to build. Cox of limited parts avail

Caspian recoils different coz all steel, flatter for my grip

Sti is solid reliable, little more recoil for me.

Regarding reliability on feeding, magazine issue and recoil control.Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks

Everything below is just an opinion.

I wouldn't build a Caspian, the used ones are so cheap I'd just get one of them and rebarrel and Comp it the way I wanted it. I've seen them sell for $1000 with mags and those were good caspians. Another reason not to build, no resale value.

Now in a single stack, I have a Caspian.

There are no light weight Caspian guns they will all be heavier than an STI with the polymer grip. If you are wanting a heavy gun then get the Steel Grip for the SVI and a brass mag well it will be plenty too heavy about 60 oz. My new STI weighs in at 32 oz, very light easy to drive.

Caspian 9mm major works... ( Jim Anglin will build/tune you an excellent big stick) I have had both of mine re-barreled from 38 super and they work fine.

Sti works just as well if built by a smith who knows 9 major.

Really more a matter of which you like the feel of better (grip shape and weight.)

As an aside you can build a light caspian but it requires the titanium frame (which is more expensive and not always available) :)

(I have one of TI frames in the safe waiting on some extra time and money)

:surprise:

Travis and K.C both have/shoot mags Ive done for them, worked with Caspian,Alan Meek and Travis

regarding their current line of mags.

Ive used TZ Type mags with Caspian`s for years. Easy fix.

My Caspian limited gun is older than dirt.

Done quite a few 170 mags for Caspian.

Caspians are not that much heavier and the weight of the frame is in your hand, I feel they shoot

flater than the current S-I type guns.

9 major is do-able with Caspian; when, I do one I try to use the older style mags easier to

get running with the older mags. Im working on a 9mm mag set up using Tz 9mm mags and Caspian

is trying to get 9 mags also.
