I have been given a Colt 1911 .45...i looked up the serial number and it's a 1950 model.....it looks brand new...I cant find a nick on it....

what's it worth?

This picture really doesn't do it justice,

I'll give you 200$ for that old paper weight

J/K had to do it before Merlin got here. I think we would need better pics.

Im with Jade, its probably worth a pretty penny at this point, if you wantto maybe increase its value for those who like the rampant stallion, is to contact Colt or their archival division??? yrs ago you could get papers verified by Colt as to the date/time who made the thing, then the pony would have a pedigree to add to its value, somthing to think about

Zander"s Sporting Goods have these Colt's (1950)in thier catalog from NIB to very good condition with matching number box.

NIB $2200.00

Excellent $1900.00

Very Good $1500.00

Excellent with non matching box $1750.00

That should give you a ballpark idea of the value. The matching number boxes make a big difference to collectors. They also have some 2 and 3 gun consecutive serial numbered sets in matching numbered boxes.
