toddrod
If anyone wants it in Excel format just PM me and I will get it to you ASAP. Going back to the range tomorrow to do more testing with MG 124 HP, a 130g LRN and my own hand casted LEE 124g LRN.

joecichlid
Any plans to try some HP-38 powder? I think the next gun I will be getting is a Spartan in the key of 9mm and I have a lot of this powder on hand. lol Joe W.
toddrod
Sorry Joe. That is 1 powder I can not get my hands on in this area. I also have the BB 135g bullet that I will be testing but just have not got around to making up the test loads for it.

joecichlid
Oh, ok. It is the same powder as Win 231 so the load data should be identical. Joe W.

Darrell
Todd I have plenty of 231 if you want some. I'll bring you some before I hit area 4 next weekend. Keep the ransom rest with you till I get back.
toddrod
Joe W. - Thanks to Darrell your wish has come true. I should have 231 data with the BB 124, GAT 124 (it is basically an uncoated BB using the same mold), Lee 124g LRN and if I have time the BB 135g by the end of the week. I am having trouble with feeding of the PD and MG 124g HP. They are getting stuck right at the bottom of the barrel ramp. At least 1 in 5 are doing this. Any round nose bullet I have used works great.

VORTEX
I just see your load with 3.6 grs of N310 and 124 grs bullet, is not too hot?? Signs of overpressure?? I have a pound of N310 and i want to use it, but some post put scare on me about N310, thanks from Argentina
toddrod
Yes, the primers were starting to flatten. Way to snappy for me with the 124g bullets.
Severian
Will have more next week. The group size doesn't make sense. I shoot PD 124 HPH with 3.7 TG, OAL 1.110 and get 1.5-8 inch groups with my STI Trojan. Jeff
toddrod
If you do enough testing with a Ransom Rest you will see this happen with groups. Different barrels (even though in the same model gun) will perform differently.
rhyrlik
Why not vary the OAL in addition to the powder charge. I have found OAL to affect accuracy just as much as powder charge weight. I have loads where a change of .015" in OAL will cut groups in half. I start long, then shorten the OAL in .010" increments until I like the accuracy. Hi-Power Jack
I have found OAL to affect accuracy just as much as powder charge weight. My BHP is more accurate with loads a little too short to cycle the gun reliably:( I had to lengthen the OAL's a bit (lost a bit of accuracy, but gun functions reliably now:)) Jack

Hi-Power Jack
Have you tried using a lighter recoil spring? Yes, I was using a much lighter spring than factory.
rhyrlik
That sux. Maybe cou could try a different powder/bullet/primer? I have worn out a bunch of different combinations in my pursuit of the ultimate 147gr load. They all have different properties including recoil.
