DocMedic
Just wondering, I was gonna pick up a pro last year, but saw the IPSC / USPSA approved handguns list saying the M&P9 Pro was not approved. I was just wondering how long ago this was changed?

Sarge
Somebody will be along shortly with the exact date most likely. But it was mid last year sometime. (2009)
millisec
I was wondering about that myself because I saw someone say yesterday the 9 Pro was NOT approved. Does that mean it will also take a year or more for the 40 Pro to get approved? I was thinking about that gun (or the G35) to go from IDPA to IPSC. The 40 pro would be nice and it would fit my existing Bladetech 9 Pro holster. Plus I would not have to deal with trying to work up 9mm major loads. I also shoot a Sig 220 Match in CDP but theres no way I would shoot that gun for IPSC.
PCC-1
the pro has been approved for USPSA since.... i believe shortly after the 2008 USPSA Nationals. I remember that at the 2008 i had to shoot my 4.25 inch there. It is still not approved for IPSC due to the custom shop trigger sear being below the #5 threshold. The 9L is approved for both. It seems they've added the Pro to the IPSC list, but it was definitely not on there last year when they added the 9L. It still wouldn't be allowed at a match in stock form because of the trigger weight. R,

There's no real way to know how long it will take Smith to produce and document the required # of guns, but it didn't take too long for the Pro 9. The 9L took a while longer (six months maybe?). I suspect they'd sell quite a few of the Pro 40s right away, so it might only take a few months before they'd be on the list. Julie G was handling the 9 Pro and 9L and was really on it...paperwork immediately as soon as they produced enough guns. R,

I can't find a trigger pull limit in my USPSA rule book for Production. Thanks, Eric
