  1. Take the mag brake out and see if the mags still get stuck. If they fall clear then the mag brake is too tight. Straighten it out a bit and put it back in. Keep doing it until they drop free. I shot mine with out a mag brake in it! The mags would fly out the gun.
  2. I was down at Frostproof this weekend for the IDPA Triple crown. They have done a lot of berm work on the old as well as the new bays. It has really opened the bays up for some spread out shooting. They were setting up the stages for the OPEN this weekend and i got a general idea of some of the stages.... Plan for a LOT of movement and quite a few longer shots than usual. Looks as though its gonna be a GREAT match!!!
  3. Rate of twist and barrel legnth greatly effect accuracy as well... Individual testing is about the only way to know for sure.
  4. I had this SAME problem a few years ago... I am not absolutely positive but i remember there being something wrong with the crimp die backing out a turn or so.... Check it....
  5. I think the intent of the "team Event" is to get a "Grudge" match between sponsors going.... With advertisement $$$ kinda slim these days, we have to find more ways to give our sponsors more play. The winning team story could get a lot more story line in something like the "Shooting Wire" or other media outlets. If S&W were to field a team and win.... you know they would plug it for everything its worth.... Same with any of the other manufacturers or suppliers.... With that being said... I think its going to be kinda hard to field a team with one in every division. The top 3 Divisions in shooter numbers are usually OPEN, LIMITED and PRODUCTION. Why not just field a team of 5 with mandatory 1 in each of those divisions (total 3) and the other 2 could be in any of the 6 divisions. Think about this... at last years Area 6... There were a grand total of 4 Revolver shooters...... That SUX
  6. "your mistake was thinking that there is not a gun... because you do not see a gun...."
  7. I had this issue with my 9L... after a month or two of scratching my head and burning up a shit load of ammo.... a buddy recommended checking the crown of the barrel. Seems somehow I got a nick in the leading edge of the crown. I didn't think it would make a difference in a handgun, but I had it re-crowned by my gunsmith anyway. Oh boy was i wrong... just one little nick removed i went from 5-6 inch groups at 20 down to 2/2.5... May not be your problem... but it cant hurt to look at it... Just don't look down it!
  8. This issue seems to be mirroring our current bout with Washington. They (Washington) make decisions on what they think is best for the country. They think they know whats best for us better than we do! They do not listen when the overwhelming majority of citizens pursue an issue! I think the BOD has taken a page from the Washington Playbook.... I do not really care one way or the other. Just tell me what the rule is and i will comply. However, the BOD should be responsive to the needs of the members. NOT the members to be responsive to the needs of the BOD..... jm2c
  9. It may just be coincidence.... But STI now has a DA/SA gun aimed at Production Division.... Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will...
  10. Why not? OMG that would be LOUD!!! How do you triple plug.....? I dunno... but i bet a porn star could give you an answer......
  11. Welcome to the Forum Chris. There is a 5th Saturday match at the WAC this coming Saturday... Hope to get to meet you... I will be there recouping from my miserable performance at the Area 6
  12. Bro.. The temp gauge in my truck said 97 Saturday during setup. No Breeze and humidity out the roof.... Bring plenty of water, gatorade, and a case of sunscreen... my shoulders are burnt to a crisp!!!! There WAS a breeze - your ears were blue. I assume you didn't point the power sprayer at your head. And I am amazed that you managed to sunburn through a layer of blue paint. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2011 Area 6 Match Director I guess you are right.... the breeze must not have been cooling me off due to the paint acting like an insulator... and exactly how i managed to get burnt through all that paint????? I have absolutely NO idea... but i did... Just my shoulders... but they are blistered a bit...
  13. Bro.. The temp gauge in my truck said 97 Saturday during setup. No Breeze and humidity out the roof.... Bring plenty of water, gatorade, and a case of sunscreen... my shoulders are burnt to a crisp!!!!
  14. Stages are up... I hope you like BLUE.... Stage 12 is totally awesome!!!! you can see stage 12 in the background of this pic.... im thinking applying for a spot as a smurf.... always wanted to try smurfette....
  15. Isn't this a violation of Rule 5.2.2? Im not sure???? But im still waiting to see that model Sig show up in a brochure somewhere....
  16. I am right there with you in the "got my ass handed to me" club...... You know, I did too, but still had my best finish at a major to date, so I'm not that upset with it. This match does two great things. 1. It kicks the season off in a big way and 2. Shows you some things you might not know about all aspects of your field course game. To answer the question about why they don't shoot nationals? Not to sound trite - but an Open is exactly that - Open. While I'm all about competing with foreign competitors - some great people there - Nationals should be about the US National shooters. I kinda like it just the way it is! You are right on the money about the "OPEN" vs "National" matches!!! I had a great time... even at getting my butt kicked!!! Here is a video of stage 4.. It was called "Palmetto Run" The RO was a little perplexed until he figured out that i took the stage name to heart....
  17. I am right there with you in the "got my ass handed to me" club......
  18. I made it to Master class with an M&P.... but.... i picked up a Shadow Target last year and its been my primary Production gun ever since! The first 3 classifiers i shot with it were in the high 90's.... I may never make it to GM but i think i stand a better chance with the Shadow Target. It is the most accurate handgun i have ever owned!!!!
  19. I think he is talking about the firing pin stop that holds in the firing pin on a shadow. Not the firing pin "Block" on a regular SP-01. It is like a 1911. Now im not sure if you could modify it to get the results noted... but i can see no reason why you couldn't.
  20. Sorry about the guns brother... hope they turn up soon... we will all keep an eye out for them...
  21. See thats not true either, pulled this off the ipsc.org approved production gun page. I stand corrected... but i dont think the trigger "as is" will make the cut
  22. the pro has been approved for USPSA since.... i believe shortly after the 2008 USPSA Nationals. I remember that at the 2008 i had to shoot my 4.25 inch there. It is still not approved for IPSC due to the custom shop trigger sear being below the #5 threshold. The 9L is approved for both.
  23. I can always find a spot - but it will be where ever I have an opening (from someone that cancelled). Obviously, "day of the match" squad request may not be possible. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2010 SC State Match Statistician Thanks Linda...
