B.J. Norris
As a lot of people already know, I was discharged out of OSUT a couple weeks ago due to lower back problems. I won't go into a lot of detail here (there's more on my blog), but it really sucks... Only a couple weeks away from graduation and I had to come home... Sarge
BJ When I was a Drill Sergeant I ELS'd alot of guys. Most were a turd in one way or another. It really sucked when a fine upstanding young man that wanted to serve had to be discharged. I know it is no great consolation to you now, but just by volunteering you did far more than most would ever be willing to do. For that, I for one, thank you. Steve J
I'm sorry to hear that. The important thing now is to heal. You don't want to be plagued by back problems the rest of your life.

BSeevers
I saw your excitement and pride in serving. Thanks and keep it. You did your duty.
Paul Burtchell
I enlisted in the Navy back in 1980. One week into basic training my back went "South" on me. I was discharged about 3 weeks later. I know it's disappointing now, BJ, but as they say, "when one door closes another will open for you". Take care of yourself and I wish only the best for you. Jake Di Vita
Looked at your blog and didn't see any more information on the nature of your back problems. Shoot me a PM with the details and I might be able to offer you some insight as mitigating these types of problems is something I am faced with on a nearly daily basis with clients of mine. chp5
Sorry to hear this BJ. I've block a couple discs and feel your pain. You are a young man - take care of your back so it doesn't haunt you later.
