  1. David Barton wrote a book, or pamplet (http://www.wallbuilders.com/store/product13.html) called The Second Amendment. I'm in the middle of it right now, but it shows how, without a doubt, if you look at original intent of the 2nd amendment, it was for the individual's right now self-defense. I think this group of justices, at least the majority, will come to the same conclusion as Barton.
  2. OOOoohhhhhh!!! So that's the crap at Sonic they call "Popcorn Chicken".
  3. They are shipping with a x1.5. Ours came in yesterday, and they felt very nice. The trigger pull was heavier than I was hoping for. Also, with Microtech being Microtech, they promised us 30 rifles on our opening order and only sent us 10. I should be getting feedback from some of my customers today. I'll post what I find out.
  4. These are starting to ship now. Does anyone have any first hand experience with them? Any comments? I work for one of the distributors who is carrying this rifle and I'm looking for feedback. We should be getting our first ones in today or tomorrow. I've heard they look great, but I'm more concerned about reliability and accuracy. www.msarinc.com for those who want to check them out.
  5. Either the politicians are very smart, or we as a people are very stupid. I can't believe that Texans just approved $10 billion, b b billion, in new government spending. All of the propositions were worded in creating bonds to cover the cost. Alright guys, what am I missing here. Are people thinking they are getting something for nothing here? Or, with the rising cost of gas, we just thought that we should spend $5 billion on repairing our roads. The more I think about it, or the older I get, or the more sober I get, the madder I get about the money I give to the stupid government. I think Hiliary might be on to something. If I were 35, I might consider running for President, promising everything that I possible could. Elect me and I'll give you "free" healthcare, and "free" housing, and "free" food. This is a first rant for me... and I don't know if I feel better or worst. Its almost 4 in the morning here, and I have to be at work at 8:30. I don't know why I'm not able to sleep.
  6. You left out Homer Simpson: "Mmmm, chicken!"
  7. Well, I don't usually get motion sickness, but this was worst than Blair Witch project. We had to leave about an hour into the movie. Oddly enough, I really don't care how the movie ended. We left right after the SWAT style entry and where Pivens was about to loose his lunch. Maybe I didn't make it long enough for the hook.
  8. The movie wasn't great, but decent... that is, until the very end. I was enjoying the movie as much as anyone can enjoy a Nick Cage movie. I was actually only going to watch just the begining of it last night before going to bed. It kept me up well past midnight (my bedtime). It was very entertaining, even with the cheesy concept. But all of the good in the movie died at the end. I've never been so disappointed by an ending. The best way to describe it, the producers have decided that they want to show you that movies are a waste of time. If you didn't think so while watching the movie, the "just kidding" ending really proves the point.

    Which one?

    Mountains North Carolina or Colorado?
  10. It has been tooooooo looooooonnng since I'm had a garage, and a place to put a reloader. At the end of this month, we are finally moving. As luck would have it, my work has just completed a move to a small location. So, that means lots of shelves and gun art laying around for the taking, just in time for my move. I'm very excited about the prospect of having a garage again, and buying a reloader. I guess mainly, I'm excited about having ammo to shoot, but reloading is the first step. So, where are best places to get once fired 45ACP brass, powder, primers, and which bullets are recommended. Looking for cheap above all. I may not make it back to a match for a while, so really just looking to go plinking.
  11. Ron Avery's Intro into Secrets of a Professional Shooter Here are 3 good clips, but I'm sure there are a ton more out there. What's your favorite clip?
  12. Well, since this debate started with my friend, he uses as his justification: Weaver is the stance for any fighter, be it boxer, karate, anything. Switching between pistol, rifle, or shotgun, you all use weaver. The pistol is not only in the middle of your hand, but the middle of your arm all the way back to your shoulder. Using isometric tention, for example pushing your hands together in front of you, they are less likely to move if an outside force is applied, than any other way of holding your hands. If you ask any combat veteran from WWII up to Vietnam, you will find they used Weaver. Standing in weaver, you are more stable. Someone is less likely to push you over from behind. These are his justification, but rest assured, he will see this post.
  13. I'm not sure if this is the place for this question, but I figure someone here would be able to help me out. I have some friends who are absolutely stuck on weaver as "the way". They are friends, so I'm trying to show them, what I consider, a better way. They have conceded that Mod. Isosceles might be faster, but tactically much more unsound. Their 2 main arguments are the ease of switching between pistol and long gun, and the "fact" that it is the only proven technique from surviving combat vets from the previous wars up to Vietnam. I would love any information about current war time situations where people are using Modified Isosceles over Weaver, and are having success. Again, these are friends, and we are really trying to prove the best way. We are also about to involve several non-shooters to the concealed carry world, and are really trying to hash out the best way. So, any and all advise is welcome. :Edited to allow for "Other" in the poll after reading Sandorman's post.
  14. ssssssssSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THACK!
  15. AAahhhh! Feel the Power! Muuhahahahahaha. Now let us see if can get them to kiss their elbows! Or Track their sights and call their shots. Muuhahahahaha!
  16. Anyone else able to accomplish this? I definitely can't. I've got the entire office trying to do it, and its really funny to watch. The moment their hand starts to move, their foot changes direction.
  17. How smart is Your Right Foot ? ? Just try this. It is from an orthopedic surgeon............ This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again To see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's preprogrammed In your brain! 1. WITHOUT anyone watching you and while sitting where you are at your Desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and Make clockwise Circles. 2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right Hand.? Your foot will change direction. I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are Going to try it again, if you've not already done so.
  18. My wife loves to watch the special features. During one where they are talking about their tour promoting the movie, some liberal student ask if they enjoyed shooting the guns. The actors called the guns by their correct names and you could tell they had a good knowledge and respect for the guns. They did "ham" it up at the end of the discussion, but kudo's to their instructor.
  19. There was a made for TV version of the Bourne Identity made in the late 80's that was pretty good as well. If you can find a copy, its worth the price of the rental. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094791/
  20. Yep, the start of the scene, he's holding a Glock. Later on, its a Sig. It's the rear sights that gave it away for me.
  21. Just finished watching it. It's a very fun movie, great story, great suspense. Once again, the normal Hollywood crap where the right wing of government is made out to be the bad guy. But, that is very easy to overlook. If you are a fan of this series, you won't be disappointed. Last scene, did anyone catch the gun mess up?
  22. At an Area 6 match 4 or 5 years ago, I was fortunate enough to be humbled by Jerry Miculek. On one stage, every shot was fired through PVC pipes. I was very cheap, and decided to shoot lead bullets for that match. (Actually, I think I didn't plan my time right and lead was the only thing available in the time frame.) Oh, Jerry's 625 broke. Click, click, click, click, click, click, bang! click, click, bang! click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, bang! Finally, he figured out that he could thumb cock, or fan, his revolver, and it would fire. I think it took Jerry about 45 seconds to shoot the stage. Personally, I'm still waiting for the smoke to clear out of some of those pipes so I can finish the stage!
  23. Ok, I'll bite. What happens in September? I'm not up on the news, so I'd appreciate any enlightenment.
  24. Any more comments on this movie? Worth the time to watch, or should I just put it back on the shelf and back away slowly?
