  1. Currently I just do work on my own guns and a few friends guns locally. I have considered branching out and becoming a forum dealer in the near future as I tool up to better handle a bigger workload. But for now....I'm not ready to branch out just yet. As for the Flannigan....it is red anodized with composite furniture and can be had with a 28,30 or 32" barrel. I wanted the Flannigan because it was red and looked cool but wasn't willing to pay the extra $300 for it. So I got the composite and it has a real cool grey finish with red pinstripes. ETA: I clicked on the link and realized there is a Flannigan extension tube. His is stainless steel and very heavy. The Nordic tubes are made of aircraft aluminum and are every bit as strong as a steel tube at half the weight.
  2. Happy Birthday to all! and to my good friend BOZ....damn you gettin old.
  3. Happy Birthday to all! And you too Charles you old coot.
  4. While I do not reload for my shotty,in matches....i use the Winchester Ranger Low Recoil 1oz slugs going 1200fps. And for birdshot....I like the Remington SPS or Winchester AA #9 going 1200fps. I prefer #9 shot because it gives such a dense pattern and responds well to choke changes for pattern. I will shoot #7.5 or #8 if #9 is not available but try hard to get my hands on #9s. ETA: the loads I mention are 3 dram and 1 1/8oz shot For practice.....I shoot whatever is on sale.
  5. The Sierra Precision SPR grip is probably the largest grip available but I think only available for right hand shooters. Can be found at Brownells
  6. I wanted a lighter shotgun and had to have the vent rib barrel. Those were my 2 main concerns. If you want really soft recoil and don't mind the weight or rifle type sighted barrel. The SLP is hard to beat. The SX3 being as light as it is is quite snappy. But I like snappy and wanted a light fast to move shotgun. Actions and gas systems are identical.
  7. Thanks for all the props guys......it means alot. It was a big goal of mine to make GM in Production. I'm now tickled to have the title for Limited too.
  8. Much can be found in the last few months if you use the search function. It is recommended to search before asking on the forums. Here is a good thread. And this is another
  9. Just loaded a video of me shooting it on YouTube
  10. Glad it wsn't as bad as it could have been. Hope the recovery is quick and your back pressin the bang switch of your blaster really soon.
  11. Was talking to another friend who shoots matches with us and we were talking about IMGA and the rule sets associated with several different matches. I know there are some on here that have been doing this for a while and know the history. Could some of y'all explain how IMGA got started? Google and the search really don't turn up a whole lot about the specific question.
  12. Good job pressin that bang switch Blake
  13. Yes....Winchester,Browning and FN are the same Invector system. If it is marked for Invector....use the invector system only. Invector Plus is completely different and designed around an overbored barrel. A more efficient design that helps aide in slight recoil reduction and better patterning. I persoanlly use the Carlson extended(sporting clay)tubes in my SX3. But the Brileys are great too. Just a little more expensive. The extended tubes from either company pattern much better than the factory chokes. I use a Skeet,Imrpoved Cylinder,Light Mod,Mod and on occasion an Improved Mod. I probably use IC the most and Skeet the second most for most USPSA 3 gun and LM and Mod for most outlaw 3 gun with the use of more steel plates at varying distances. I highly recommend you go pattern all your chokes at various distances starting at 10 yards and back to 30 increasing distance in 5 yard increments, all chokes will basically pattern within an inch of each other at 10 yards so don't expect alot there but at 15 they all start to do there thing and open up.
  14. Do you want the TTI Eliminator or the SJC Titan? If you want the Titan.....I think forum dealer CPWSA will ship one to the Phillipines. I personally think the Titan is a much improved design of the TTI. I just ask because you mention TTI Titan at the end of your post.
  15. I did a big write up about a year ago over on AR15.com comparing the Titan and the Rolling Thunder(progressive and non progressive ports). I'll see if I can dig it up. It was pretty in depth comparing the two and I shot about 150 rounds through each one for a good comparison at varying distances and positions. The only experience I have with iron sights is a Titan on a heavy metal DPMS 308. And it is flat out amazing how good the Titan works on 308. But LOUD....my god. But it works freakin awesome. I'll take loud any day if it works that good. But for sure....the Titan wins the loudest comp category and none of the others are exactly quiet. The Rolling Thunder and Titan have been the two most effective comps I have shot on my rifles. And I've also shot a few variations of the SAW Custom that work pretty darn good. You really can't go wrong with either. With that said....I shoot Titans. I just feel that the Titan has a slight edge on my rifle. I am one of those people that believes in his equipment. I do believe certain equipment gives an advantage. This is one of those pieces of gear in my opinion. There are a handful of shooters out there that are capable of shooting just as good with or without certain equipment. I am one of those people that will stack the deck in my favor if and whenever possible. And I'll honestly say that good comps are a huge advantage on a rifle in our sport. And so is good practice as Kelly Neal keeps reminding us.there really is no substitute for good practice. Dry or live fire.
  16. OHHHH....so you're the one that got all the primers?
  17. To add to Erik,Kurt and Traprs posts....I just wanted to talk about the gun I replaced my Benelli with. The Winchester SX3. Its basically the same gun as the FN SLP MkI but on a diet and it has a vent rib barrel but 26" instead of the 22" barrel of the FN. My SX3 weighs under 7#. Benellis weigh in at a little over 7#. The FN is just over 8#. My Benelli was a jam up shotgun. It was the older M1 that was purchased used from another Benos member when I first got into 3 gun in 2006. I put a little over 15k rounds through it on top of the undisclosed round count he had run through it. It always ran assuming you kept good springs in it and a little oil on the bolt. Recoil to me was very manageable. It was a little finicky on its diet but I just fed it what it wanted. I would not hesitate to own another Benelli but this time probably an M2. What got me interested in the SX3 was that I won one of the FN's and shot it some and really liked it. It was very soft and ate just about anything I put in it. A little unlike the Benelli. But at just over 8# it was a bit heavy but it soaked up alot of recoil and at the same time cycled extremely fast. Like Erik(the moose that he is) I could outrun my Benelli on demand even with a lightened bolt. Its never happened in a match but it has happened in one side match that I remember at FNH 2 years ago. Now for the SX3......its a bit longer than the FN and Benelli with a 26" barrel but bearable. The most notable thing was that it was a gas gun at a bit under 7#. Notably lighter feeling than the Benelli and with a 26" barrel. But...recoil was more in line with the Benelli.Much snappier. Definitely not as soft as the FN. But I liked it. Fast and snappy and very light to swing like the Benelli. But,I wanted a SG the length of the Benelli to be able to work a bit smoother in confined spaces. The 26" worked fine 95% of the time. But there were those few instances that I wanted the shorter barrel so I decided to send it off and have it cut down which turned out to be a nightmare in itself. But I really liked the way the gun handled with a 22" vent rib barrel. Plus it knocked another 3 ounces off the weight of the gun. But for comparison sakes.....heavier guns definitely soak up more recoil. But the lighter ones are in no way unmanageable. A quick note on the 1100/1187 gas guns. they are a bit heavier than the Benelli and recoil is felt much less, but it also feels very sluggish to me. I'm personally not a fan of the Remmys. Just like what was mentioned....reliability and durability are a huge factor in our game. And I will say in closing.....that shotguns are just finicky by nature and all of them will hiccup. Some hiccups will be smaller and easier to deal with than in other brand guns......but shotguns are gonna have their moments. Just seems to be the nature of the beast. Benellis have a very good track record and the Winchesters and FNs are coming on strong. Take up all offers to shoot as many as you can before buying.
  18. You may have seen these already. I can take more if you want to see something more specific.
  19. When we used to test shoot them....we used Barrett,Summit and surplus 50bmg FMJ 650 grain ball. They would all hold about 1.5-2" in a 3 shot group at 100 yards. While that does not sound impressive. 3- 1/2" holes all touching looked pretty cool. One thing I noticed when we did shoot them is that the groups remained the same to about 300 yards before they started opening up past 3". I never got the chance to shoot them past 300. I do know when they went out and did some trials for the military.....that they got first round hits on 18x24" steel at 1800 yards. And also were able to put multiple hits on the same back to back. So to me......I believe they are accurate capable....especially with some good handloaded match quality stuff.
  20. Fitting 6 pouches with any type of pouch is possible on a 34" waist. Its fitting them in the smallest amount of real estate as possible. I prefer to not have mine wrapped around to the middle of my back. I use a small piece of velcro on the inside of my Ready Tacs to secure them on the outer belt and then add another small piece of velcro to the backside of the kydex that contacts my inner belt. I also have Ready Tac make my belt attachment like a J hook so that they can not be pulled off the belt. Another thing to consider when running 6 pouches with Tek Lok or CR Speed or Safariland pouches is the weight of the belt empty. My 6 ready Tac pouches almost add no extra weight to the belt. Less weight means less fatigue. I used to run 6 CR Speed pouches. aside from them wrapping past the middle of my back.....they were pretty heavy.
  21. I really like the Ready Tactical pouches that CPWSA sells. They do not have tension screws and take up very little real estate per pouch on the belt. I can get 6 pouches in the space I normally only get 4. They are just a very simple design that is totally bind free.
  22. The true differences in the M1 vs the M2 sans the stock. M2 has a different trigger group housing now made of plastic....M1 was metal. M2 has overbored barrel and lengthened forcing cone with better Crio choke tubes. Threads are in different locationa and the tubes are longer. M1 does not have the forcing cones lengthened as much and barrel is not overbored and uses the older Mobil choke version of chokes. I am of the belief based on what I have felt that the M2 barrel is where the majority of the recoil reduction is. The M2 barrel also patterns more consistently using a wider variety of shot loads than the M1 barrel using factory chokes. Briley and Carlson tubes make a big pattern improvement in the M1 barrel. I couldn't see as much of a difference using Carlson tubes over the factory Crio chokes in the M2. Oh yeah....the receiver has m2 engraved into it. And as for Benelli barrels.....I believe they are all chrome lined because I personally have never seen one that was not.
