  1. What I'm interested in is micro switches, solenoid activated sears etc. My last paintball marker was easily capable of 20 shots per second. Electrically activated mechanical sear.
  2. Great, now I've got more mental homework. ...and research. I've seen some pretty radical stuff, now just to find it again.
  3. Yep, I've actually seen that concept done before. Bullseye gun with old tube optic.
  4. I don't think I can use a thumb rest (*thumb rest [generic]*) because I don't want to modify my kydex holster. LOL.
  5. Oh yes, just like that without the ports. Noicccce.
  6. How about a 6" slide but only 5 inches of it reciprocates? STI TruSight but 6" barrel.....getting awefully close to a weight at the end of the muzzle though... OOH, then there is the Hogue 1911 top end, non-recoil operated, fixed barrel. I think J.Lim has been working on a gas delayed recoil system too (iirc from his FB page). I feel like we are going from NASCAR to F1.
  7. ...and can wear a belt NOT in belt loops. Think "Mom Jeans".
  8. I'm on the fence. On one hand I don't like it because I think 2# triggers are so easy to do in both M&P's and Glocks. On the flip side I like it because now all M&P and Glock triggers can have the pretravel and overtravel reduced as long as it breaks at 3# and all safeties remain. I don't think many shooters can physically tell the difference in a 2.25# trigger and a 3# trigger with their finger, not during a stage. But now it means one more way to shoot open if it falls under 3. The BOD will need a testing procedure, like 2.95# hang weights (NRA style). Pistol, held vertically, must pick up weights by trigger and not fire (dryfire). That will test the trigger in the center'ish. To reduce the perceived Shadow advantage would a 3# first and 2# for second pull help? Perhaps they should just make it 3# for ALL trigger pulls as was mentioned earlier. I'm leaning more towards "not in favor". Sorry if this was covered in the past 6 pages.
  9. I like adjustables from Dawson. Yep the front is tall. Since I like a .110 wide I started with a .125 and had it thinned.
  10. I was just answering the question from Punished.
  11. I'm looking forward to seeing what gunsmiths pull out of their hats for sure. 6" sight trackers. Tunable Pnuematic recoil springs. 6" bull barrels that weigh as much as 5" bushing barrels (have one). It's going to be interesting.
  12. Funny. Now that you said it Rich, people will believe it. I've been telling people that for three years. I've run into much flack about needing to modify the frame. Using the 2011 MSH eliminates the possibility of an ugly gap between the msh and frame when you mill the opening up. The lip of it sits on the bridge not behind it. Milling the frame at that steep angle will leave a very thin lead edge.
  13. Pretty good. It's the steep angles that guide the magazine into the gun, not just help get it to the opening. I think at a minimum all 1911's should be fit with a 2011 main spring housing.
  14. Very similar to installing a weld on magwell. The frame is shortened a little, except the area around the MS housing pin hole. The area of the frame that is removed is replaced by the magwell. I've installed one with a 10" bastard hand file but a mill is quicker. Going into the frame is what allows the velocity stack type angles. Wide at the mouth, steep further in. If I can get some of these made I may just call them Velocity Stack magwells. Velocity stacks on engine intakes increase the flow of air to get a better charge into the combustion chamber. Some theory, but for a 1911. Frame modificaiton is like swallowing the blue pill, there is no turning back. Then again, these are just tools of enjoyment. (This from the guy that took a hacksaw to a 2011 and shortened it.) They are all just tools.
  15. Actually it fits IDPA and USPSA SS boxes with plenty of room. This is 'in the white' before type III ano and Ionbond. Both of which have lasted well over the years. Mag in gun is a standard CMC with standard base pad.
  16. It's the disconnector. Known as Disconnector Click. No functional problem, only notice when dry firing and very slow group shooting. I use EGW's ball disco, fit to the frame hole. No more click.
  17. My own design. I made it about 4 years ago. That was my first prototype, the second one was even better (cosmetically). I'm gathering machine shop qoutes now. I'll post them in the vendor tent once I get them cut.
  18. I think having a magwell that does NOT have a cut out in the front is ideal. The approach angles are key too. Generally, most magwells have very shallow angles (Dawson). The question is, would you permanently modify your frame if it meant the absolute best performance? I would use my 1911 to drive nails (literally, like a hammer) if it meant match wins.
  19. 2013 the 500 rule is gone. 6 inch sight tracker, 5.5" etc all legal. Prototype stuff....bring it.
  20. Classifier match? That's like cheating. Just kidding, I can blow classifiers one at a time or 5 at a time just the same. I did just get a 97% & 99%. One for ltd and one for SS. No matter how many times I do the math, I'm still short of 570.
  21. Every full length open gun is a 5.4 inch barreled gun. The SVI five and a half is really just a non threaded open barrel.
  22. Yes, yes it does! I feel limited should be like open, without optics and comps. Although I'm cool with the current caliber and mag restrictions. All it would take is the letter to be sent in confirming that well over 500 have been made to have them legal for 2012.
  23. I didn't know that was a Colt spring. That's the only one I use. Good luck.
  24. I have two .40 seating dies (for SDB), although one is labeled 10mm. I use one for LSWC and one for JHP (and other truncated cones). I've seen rings before but it's pretty light and I've not seen a negative side effect.
