I've had the pleasure of shooting with both of these ladies. They are really fine shooters and very welcome to give advice on stages. These young ladies will be Masters soon. Great shooting ladies!

Gotta say that I've always wanted an MP-5/10. That would be very cool. But since this is a wishlist, I'd take anything belt fed. How about something that starts with the letters GAU (gun automatic unit). GAU/2C, think Dillon, GAU/8, think A-10 "Warthog". Plus a never ending ammo supply!

I can relate to this thread. Back in 2002, i saw an add in the classifieds. So I gave the guy a call. He would not part any of it out. I convinced the wife that it was a good deal. I drove to his house, wrote him a check for a grand and he helped me load up. We filled the bed of my truck with boxes and buckets, then we filled the back seat of the truck! It took me a few days to inventory all the stuff I had aquired and to price it out. I paid about $1000 for over $3500 worth of stuff. I kept all of the things I wanted and some of the stuff I thought I may want later. I sold the rest and made nearly $1000 profit. There were Dillon presses, electronic scales, over 20 pounds of powder, buckets of brass, boxes and boxes of rifle bullets, nearly a dozen reloading manuals. And all of the little things you could ever want. I wish I could find another deal like that!

If i were to waste my money on these, I would need to buy 2 of them. One to take a dump on and the other to cover it up with!

I was there when Seth's guide rod broke, brand new gun! Let's just say, he was not very happy. Having said that, mine has over 100k through it and no issues....I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

Next time you have to do something like this, use a thick chunk of leather between the punch and the sight. That way it won't leave any marks. Just remember to readjust the leather every so often. Learned this trick from a fellow member, thanks Seth.

That's what I would buy if I hadn't already spent the money on AR receiver and and STI mags!

This is just my opinion, but I think there are many on here that will agree. If you are shooting a 1911, go with the Tripp Research mags. After I started using them a few years back, I stopped using anything else. Cost is very close to the others mentioned above. Being able to quickly remove the base pad for cleaning is a BIG plus!

I have a Wichita rifle and pistol rest. They work great for revos and contenders, but not as well for autos. The old jeans and sand works really well. Just make sure that the sand is not too fine. If it is, it will tend to sift through the cloth/stiching. And don't make them too big, brick size is a good start. Make some firm, and some a bit squishy. That way you can make adjustments if needed. Or you can buy some leather rabbit ears rests.( not as cheap ) Hope this helps out.

This sounds about like my gun room. I have boxes and boxes of ammo in calibers that I don't even own. Mags and parts for guns that I have never owned. I mean, how can you say no when someone asks if you want/need a few boxes of ammo that they are just trying to get rid of? Or you buy something in a yard sale that also comes with another box of "stuff". Years later, you think, why do I have all this junk? And then it hits you, one of these days I might need this little widget.

Just please don't make IED's, people like me are tired of dealing with them.

Always resize your rifle brass before trimming. If you trim first, your lengths may vary by quite a bit after you resize. You don't want that. Uniformity is key. Having said that, I am assuming that this is for 3 gun and not bench rest. Bench Rest shooting is a whole other animal. Way to technical for this thread.

I have been running an EB for over a year now. It seems every bit as good as my original Bomar. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference. And, if I recall, it's made in the U.S. and not made of cheap import crap. It is not a cheap knock off. In my opinion, the EB is a quality product.

I first started shooting open with a Tasco Optima(precusor to the doctor, etc..). It was nice having the sight so close to the bore line. But the window is quite a bit smaller than the c-more. Once I switched to the C-more, I never looked back. As for how to mount it, I've seen it mounted just about every way. Normal, slide ride, side ways, angled, even upside down. Just get it mounted and learn to run what you got. What works for one person, may not always work for you. Just don't ask if anyone is still using an OEG! They may laugh.

I kind of wish I had enough meat left on the rear of my slide to add a slide racker. Oh well, I guess you can't miss something you never had.

My wife used to actually help and load some of our match ammo. Those were the days! Try buying anything when your wife is also a shooter. I could hide a power tool purchase, but not a gun!

ISMI are great. But it depends on your own feel, shall we say. It also depends on what runs best in you gun.

Years ago I tried a fiber front sight. At first I thought it was great. Like WOW, theres the front sight! But I used to switch between open and limited all the time. I found that I was looking at the glowing dot in front of me and not lining up my sights. Shots started getting a bit loose, shall we say. Went back to an iron sight, and things tightened back up. Think 50 yard standards. I was looking for the dot and not looking for my sights. In my opinion, they work great, for short range stuff. Not so much for the tight, thread the needle shots. But, that's just my opinion.

I would love too have witness holes in my mags that were accurate. Having said that, how is that going to change when the next whiz bag follower/spring combo pops up? Do you through away your old tubes and start over? At 50-60 dollars a tube? As Reagan used to say, "Trust, but verify"! Count your rounds and know what is in there. Witness holes only work if everything remains constant. I always count my rounds in my mags.

Some is good, more is better, too much is just enough! Except for safes! (think explosives, it's an EOD thing)

It sounds as though you may have a hammer and sear issue. try checking that out.

Not a bad idea, I'd also like to encourage the engagement and hitting of at least two non-threat targets on each stage by these same competitors! Jim I agree with Jim on this all day! That's funny
