  1. Is there even a mass produced red dot ready 2011 available in 40? For example, staccato no longer makes one.
  2. Yes, because the average citizen was packing around a pistol with a 6 inch tube on the top....... Dots on pistols were super niche before a few years ago. Now, they are everywhere. And that was the point of my post.
  3. When CO came in the general remarks I heard, were how stupid a dot on a gun was. And then there were the usual statements of, "they can shoot open" or "dots are for Timmy's". Yes manufacturers displayed guns with dots on them over 5 years ago. but they have really come into their own in the last 3ish years. All I'm really saying here is this. Once something has been around long enough to determine that it is not a fad. there should be some serious consideration about making a place for it in USPSA. Slide mounted optics are here to stay, and 2011s are a popular pistol. There should be a place for it other than open.
  4. Personally, I'd shoot it just for a change of pace. Ive been shooting CO for 5 years and could use a change up that isn't open. I shot a match 2 weekends ago, there were at least 3 people shooting open minor with a slide mounted 2011. There was a lot of resistance to CO back in the day as well. Imagine if it hadn't been given a chance. USPSA would be well behind the curve at this point. 2011s with a dot weren't even a thing 5 years ago. But today it's more and more uncommon for any pistol not to come from the factory dot ready. Technology can change rapidly, USPSA should be keeping up.
  5. Didn’t you initially complain that the POI shifted with 3 guns and 2 different optics? If your ammo changed, I’d look there first. What changed? Brand? Grain? Bullet type?
  6. Different ammo will absolutely change the POI. Sometimes by a couple inches or more.
  7. Not many major caliber 2011s out there. 9mm is far more common. Most manufacturers don’t even have an option for anything other than 9mm.
  8. no one forced them into the job…. using “volunteer” status to justify lazy performance is baloney… if you can’t do the job right, don’t volunteer, simple as that..
  9. I answered your question. and I’ll say it again. If you don’t understand how the gun works enough to figure it out for yourself, should you really be modifying it?
  10. The contempt they show towards members in their podcast is actually pretty disgusting.
  11. I think it’s pretty clear from the video that he’s removing material from the inside edge. This would also make sense due to the direction the trigger bar travels across the sear. Also, if you look closely you can see that the inside is angled, instead of square. a new sear is like $10, you wouldn’t lose much if you f’d it up. That said, should you really be modifying the internals of your firearm, if you can’t see these things for yourself?
  12. Looks like plenty of slots available to me. The am/pm/am schedule has lots of availability.
  13. I’ve looked at the Burris years ago when it was on of a few limited options. Even then it wasn’t very optimal. The way you’re going on about how great burris is, you’d think you work for them or something equally ridiculous….
  14. Now you’re just going off on a nonsensical rant.
  15. I wouldn’t base what I use off what the super squad uses, there is too much bias due to sponsorship deals. You can tell yourself whatever you want, Burris is a low end optic when it comes to USPSA.
  16. I’d be surprised to see even 1 Burris at any USPSA match. There is a reason people don’t use them. Even when the only other choice was a DPP, they still weren’t very popular. if it works for you, great. But there are many many better options available.
  17. They’re probably working their way through current stock.
  18. The changes to L10 and prod can’t happen until Jan 31 2024. LO can become a provision division any time after the board votes. Then there is a 12-24 month “data collection” period. At the end of that, if board votes it in, it becomes permanent on the next Jan 31. Which mean 2025 or possibly 2026. Seems a bit drawn out, but that’s what they changed the bylaws to in the last overhaul….
  19. You’re better off buying a plate to mount the Burris, as opposed to permanently modifying your slide to fit a low end red dot.
  20. That’s pretty much the standard footprint these days. It will direct mount a romeo1 pro, dpp or any sight with a trijicon footprint.
  21. Ive been using a ratchet as well. I greatly prefer it. One of the main issues with the Lynx belt is that it wears out inner belt velcro very quickly. A ratchet makes that a non issue, as the belt will stay tight eve if the inner velcro is worn..
  22. I still remember the first year I shot CO, 2018. I had to send back 12 DPP in one season. I actually had 3 spares at one point. The DPP had been redesigned and supposedly has much less problems now, but I still wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole. Since then dots have gotten much more reliable, but you're right, they aren't there yet. But I think they will be at some point. There is at least 4 new competition focused red dots being released this year. Hopefully at least one of them takes the next step.
