Well, in other good news I was notified last night that someone pulled out of the Area 8 championships, so I signed up for that! I'll be in squad 104 on Thursday. 13 stages seems daunting, but I'm pumped!

Sorry to bump this old-ish thread with a noob question, but I’m new to open shooting so a lot of this stuff is still a mystery. My open gun is a bit older (though new to me), and apparently it’s a 2011 with a Caspian slide on a trip frame. Would I need to get Caspian mags or STI mags from MBX? Thanks.

Shot this a few weekends ago and did okay. HF of 7.6616 for 48%. I'm a D shooter so this felt pretty good!

Right on! This stuff is addictive, and my hope is that one of these big matches will show me what is achievable by the really good shooters. And, by extension, what I need to work on. Right now there are two production GMs signed up, so I hope that I can check out their shooting at some point.

Coincidentally, since making the original post I've moved up to mid-C class. Still dinky, I mean, just a little less-so.

Yes. Even if I take a full second between shots, I’ll occasionally get some muzzle dip right before the shot breaks.

Got it. I did put a 13 or 15lb spring in there, so I probably just need to grip harder with the support hand.

Anyone else have a problem with flinching with the X5? I went from a Glock to the X5, and for whatever reason I have a tendency to flinch low and slightly left on 2nd and third shots. I don’t flinch with any other gun - just the X5. It also doesn’t happen to the first shot, just some follow up shots. is this a technique issue? Is there something about going from a Glock grip to Sig grip that might be inducing this?

Hey all. I just started shooting production with a G34 back in March. The first thing I did was replace the stock sights with a set of Vogel Dynamics fiber optic sights, which have served me pretty well. However, I've also started reloading, and I've found that while 147gr rounds are pretty much right on, 124 and 115gr rounds print 1-2" high at 10yds. That could become more pronounced at further distances, and I was wondering what options are available for Glock adjustable rear sights? Do Bo-Mar style sights exist? Are there any types that people recommend?

IMO the Zev connector is too mushy.

I've been doing strong hand reloads, like you mentioned. It seems like the simplest way to do it.

Hey all. I'm a relatively new shooter who has been shooting production for the past few months. A buddy let me borrow his S&W TRR8 and I became smitten with it. I want to shoot a match in the USPSA revolver division, but I'm not sure what things I should especially be aware of when it comes to revolver shooting. I understand the gear limitations of the division, but what are some of the things that may not be apparent to a new shooter? Like, when you should be reloading, how many moon clips to take (I only have 10), when you should be putting new rounds in your clips, etc What are some traps to avoid? Sorry for the elementary question, but there's not a whole lot of information out there.

Couldn't think of a section to put this in, so it's here in the BEginners forum I'm not looking for a flashy jersey with all sorts of logos and everything on it. I really just want to get a joke jersey made with something like "PROUD D CLASS SHOOTER" on it. Every site I've checked out wants a bunch of money for even a limited run of jerseys, but I just want a one-off thing as a joke. Anyone have a good source?
