So, I am putting together a build list and here is what I have so far. Let me know what you think. I'd read this thread and it will give you some ideas. When I had tumbling I was shooting Berry's bullets in my glock. I switched to xtreme and haven't had problems since.

Red vs Green Fiber Optic front sight
Jeremyc_1999 replied to thouston406's topic in Gear & Accessories
So if I am understanding correctly you have fiber optic on both the front and rear sights? I should have clarified that I am only using fiber optics on the front site. I am not a fan of a 3 dot sight so I don't think I'd like fiber optics on the rear -
I sure like my 38SC. Granted I watch brass like a hawk, but I do like it.

For rain and colder weather I use plain old gun oil. I had a match last month and had slide guide and had to clean it all off in the rain and switch to oil to get my gun up and running.

I have settled on Tripps cobra mags for my 1911. I ordered one of tripps, chip mccormic, and wilson Mags. I never had a problem with the tripps so I ordered more. I didn't have any issues with the chip mccormic mags either, but I liked the Tripps better. My gun doesn't like the wilson mags so I gave them to a friend.

I don't think a small rifle primer would bend this firing pin. I use small rifle primers in my 38SC open pistol and have no issues. They don't appear to be any harder than any other primers

Vortex Razor Red Dot Distortion
Jeremyc_1999 replied to Silverscooby27's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
I have an astigmatism and all dots in red dots are distorted. If there is a reticle, it is not distorted. I am running 1-6 ffp scope on my AR and when I am on 1x the reticle is small enough that it looks like a dot. I don't have a PCC set up yet, so it may not work well for that, but it seems to work well in 3 gun -
memphis you do have a point. Maybe I should just go with an ar9
-
By extreme holdover do you mean the offset for the height over bore? I guess I am not understanding what you mean. Also, are reloads with a pistol caliber harder than with a rifle? While the reloads in my tavor are different in the AK or AR, I do not think that they suck. I started out with an AK and so I could say that reloads in my AR suck because they are different than my AK and I have thousands more reps of reloading my AK than AR. If it is much worse with the pistol than with Rifle magazines, that makes sense.
-
It is a very valid reason. I was just wondering if the tavor sucks for PCC. Unfortunately I cannot shoot one and see how it works and before I spend the money on the kit, I'd like to research it. If going the AR9 route is what I need to do, I can. I like my tavor but as I am playing the game I am learning that the gear won't win you matches, but you can be disadvantaged by the gear.

I have an EFK fire dragon Glock 20 conversion barrel in 40 s&w and it functions well and shoots better than I do. I’m not finding a g35 barrel in their site at the moment, but I’m also not seeing the barrel that I got from them. I’ll try to remember to check tomorrow when I am on the computer and not my phone

Did he ever say why he went away from the Tavor? Maybe he is just a guy that likes to buy new guns or maybe he had a valid reason for going away from it?
-
Yep. Couldn’t deal with the stock on.
-
Not really interested in the ruger carbines.
-
I replaced the trigger with a Geissle trigger and it is better than my Lantac trigger in my ar
-
Some valid points for sure
-
Very good thread. Makes me think that getting the conversion kit would be the better option
-
Why do you think that the Tavor is slower than other options?
-
I probably should concentrate on the ar if this would be my reasoning

Glock 35 limited or production setup?
Jeremyc_1999 replied to Dbw2223's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
Valid points for sure. The mental peace that is provided outweighs any advantage that a 9mm would provide. Plus you get a bigger bullet that might break the line in the score box in certain situations -
Did you ever determine what your problem was?

I hate to sound like a glock fan boy, but I have a 2011 open gun and I am seriously considering listing it in the b/s/t because I shot my glock at a 3 gun match last weekend and it felt so good
-
I like the 115grain rainer bullets with 5.4 grains of unique powder and federal small pistol primers. Beware of Berry's bullets in glocks. I've had them tumble

Anyone use a 9mm tavor for PCC? I have a tavor and have considered getting the conversion kit for 9mm. I've also considered just getting an ar style PCC. Let me know what your thoughts are
