  1. I hate when I am trying to sort the classifieds and hit the new topic button instead.
  2. I googled military M4 shop manual and there it was. Don’t know anything about the source and I’m leery of posting links to other sites. Call me paranoid, everybody does. (At least I think they probably do.) Lol.
  3. Found the official military M4 shop manual in pdf form online. Opened it in kindle app. Now have free shop manual. Such a deal!
  4. I found some Remington RP9 magazines for $17.81 each at Blue Target Firearms in Ohio. Best price I have seen lately.
  5. That is cheap! Unfortunately, some of us do not have a reloader setup (yet) and need to buy retail. I have a class coming up that only allows factory ammo. But $.09 is about half of what I am finding in new brass fmj 9mm.
  6. So thats it? nothing better? ever? Post your deals here and let’s see.
  7. I’ll paint them pink and see if that helps.
  8. Left it in the dirt somewhere... Hope it finds a good home.
  9. Found the culprit: Me. I swapped buttstocks and put a AR-10 buffer spring in it. That’s what they call an “ID10T” error.
  10. .45 acp, 230 gr hand loaded, 500 rds for $115.00 plus shipping from Choice Ammo. So far, no problems.
  11. Winchester 9mm 115gr FMJ, 30 boxes for $218.10 plus $33.00 shipping. Purchased from Bud’s and arrived to doorstep intact. So far, no problems.
  12. Hoping to get a list going here of good ammo prices. Post your recent purchases with brand, caliber, ammo details, size of order, price, shipping charges, etc. Come back and add details on how they worked for you.
  13. I go to gun “dot” deals, then click on ammo, then the caliber, then look at the referred sites on the list. Many of the above mentioned sites and some others too. Each referred site is a little different, but most have filters for steel, reloads, bullet weight, etc. I have seen some very low prices.
  14. Better yet: Midway’s 10.5” for $85. It’’ll be a pistol, but I wanted a new lower anyway.
  15. I have “larger than most” hands that can cross index finger and thumb around the grip. I am trying to find larger grips for my RIA double stacker. Not much out there, so next thing will be the bondo build up. I know the approximate shape because I tore off little pieces of blue masking tape and layered them up anywhere they felt right on the gun. About 1/2” deep on the backstrap to get l.o.p. right. Going to need a lots of bondo to do it right.
  16. Check double post in classifieds

  17. Ok. Thank you. I see Brownell’s has a bbl w/gas block for $155 that should do the trick.
  18. I have a heavyweight 16” 300 blk barrel and was thinking of having it cut down to about 10” and moving the gas block. Is that a realistic goal, or would it be cheaper to just buy another bbl?
  19. This thread has almost 16K views. Hard to believe that the monolithic back strap idea is not more available with that much interest being shown.
  20. I hate showing up and the match is cancelled and I could have checked it on line except I was only half awake when I left home.
  21. Take a look at the RIA Tac 9 in the classifieds. That or a Hayes Custom Guns RIA with a really nice trigger (my choice) would fit the bill.
  22. It is back at the shop. Will not be ready until next week.
  23. From American Rifleman: “Short-stroking occurs when the bolt and carrier do not travel fully rearward upon firing. When this insufficient travel prevents the bolt from picking up the rim of the top cartridge in the magazine on its forward stroke, feeding issues result. Short-stroking can also prevent the fired case from being thrown fully out of the gun. Short-stroking may be associated with a failure to stagger the slots in the gas rings on the bolt, a broken, bent or plugged gas tube, or carbon or dirt in the carrier or upper receiver. Even going from a lighter to a heavier hammer spring may cause a marginally-functioning system to short-stroke.” So, maybe it is the spring. If cmc does not have a light spring, then a stock trigger group with a stock spring will go in and we will see...
  24. So, pull the whole cmc trigger assembly and try a lightly sprung stock setup. That implies confirmation that heavy hammer springs can cause these problems.
  25. Sound advice. Narrow down the possible culprits.
