  1. Who wouldn’t love to have a 1911 type trigger and glock mags?
  2. Does anyone make a 2011 pistol that uses Glock double stack mags? If so, who? And if not, why not?
  3. Things I would like change about the Ruger carbine: The stock. Needs a stock that fits AR style grips and collapsible butt and possibly includes magwell and mag release. Mag release relocation. Something that puts the mag release in range of the trigger finger. (Duh!) Barrel mounted, cantilever optics base. Right where the rear sight mount already sits on the barrel. No use putting optics on the reciever on a takedown, is it? Trigger group. Why didn’t the designers use the whole BX trigger? Floating barrel, AR handguard. Basically a Nordic kit for the PC. Or a SR-22 rifle in 9mm. Same thing.
  4. Brought one home from Academy for $432.99 w/tax. Not a bad deal. Nifty little gun. Too bad about the mag release location. Can’t wait to upgrade the trigger and shoot some steel. Just ran 50 rds of Rem UMC 115gr through it at the range. No hiccups w/Glock 17 and 33 rd mags. Points well w/vortex viper. Great deal for the money.
  5. Another SAR at CDNN: B6 compact for $199.00.
  6. Brownell’s has them for $ 479.00 with a 10% discount code and a $50.00 store credit that takes it down to $398.00 and free shipping. Academy has them in store only $399.00 Both deals found on gun dot deals
  7. Cabela’s Black Friday .22 Federal copper round nose 1600 rds for $ 30.97 w/$20 mail in rebate. $ .019 per rd. Less than 2 cents! Academy Black Friday .45 acp Blazer Brass 230gr 300rds for $59.99 w/$20 mail in rebate. That’s $ .20 per rd. Academy Black Friday 9mm Blazer Brass 115gr 500 rds for $ 64.99 w/$20 mail in rebate. That’s $ .13 per rd. More deals on Blazer for other calibers right now. Found on gun dot deals.
  8. The internet is not a safe place to share personal information, so anonymity is the best policy for public interaction. However, when two parties are doing business, at least some information is required: The buyer needs to provide money and a shipping address at the very least, and the seller needs to provide a place to send the money at the very least. The buyer establishes integrity when the funds clear, and the moment that the integrity of the seller is proven is when the item arrives. It is that gap in time that is a concern because the personal integrity of sellers can vary and the buyer has no real means of holding a seller accountable. He is forced to trust a stranger for that length of time between sending the money and getting the item. What UPS c.o.d. does is shorten that time between the exchange of money and goods. It is simply a means of increasing the accountability of the seller to ensure that the deal is fully transacted. Sellers certainly have every right to set the terms of a deal so that they reduce the risk of not collecting payment from strangers. It is only fair to expect the buyers to want terms that protect them as well. By using c.o.d. as a method of exchange, the seller loses none of his protection and the buyer gets some means of holding the seller accountable through a third-party. The delivery man essentially becomes an intermediary to facilitate a smooth transaction, thus upholding the integrity of the buyer and seller. Assuming that the deliveryman is doing the job that he is being paid to do, all parties should be satisfied. I don’t see any reason for a seller to balk over these terms unless he has issues with his own integrity.
  9. No easy answer is right. I got scammed by someone on another board for a piddley amount once, but he was in another state, so it was not worth dealing with. I was recently scammed by a major retailer losing my cc to someone within their system. Got that one revoked. I was scammed on paypal years ago and had to close that, an ebay account, and a checking account for safe measure. I have even personally watched a guy with a major worldwide website sitting in his room creating false conversations between various online identities to make the site look busy. He got busted for an unrelated ethics violation later. So, my internet paranoia is based in personal experience and observation. I’m not accusing anyone on this site of anything so nefarious. Please don’t get your feathers ruffled. My intention was to point out the lopsided trust equation of sending the money first and a possible, partial solution. If I got an empty box sent to me c.o.d., then I could refuse payment and send it back. Unless it was supposed to be a glock cert or something lightweight.
  10. I hate losing money of any amount, but that’s another topic. What I am saying here is that the risk is unfairly distributed in favor of the seller, whomever he may be. That is what sucks.
  11. That is asking to take a leap of faith with a total stranger in another state with a made-up internet name. That is exactly what I hate.
  12. Shipping is prepaid. The additional fee is less than $20.00, I think. From a buyer’s perspective, I would gladly send a check for shipping before the item goes out. Otherwise, I am just sending a potentially significant amount of money to a made-up name on the internet and hoping that they hold up the other end of the deal. From the seller’s perspective, if the buyer prepays the extra fee, a legit seller has nothing to lose by using UPS c.o.d. Both parties have to trust the process equally and the buyer has more peace of mind. If things go wrong, the package is returned. Seller has no additional risk.
  13. I just want to say that UPS c.o.d. is a great solution to safe transactions for both parties. Instead of sending money to a stranger in another state and hoping that they send the item to you, the UPS delivers the item and collects the money at the time of delivery. If the item is not sent, the buyer has no risk and if the buyer does not have funds, UPS does not deliver. Everyone is protected.
  14. I love the Classifieds, but sending money to a stranger sucks. It seems thay the seller always wants to wait to send the item until after the funds clear, which is understandable, but what about the buyer who has to send money without any real guarrantee of getting anything back? Nobody wants to use UPS c.o.d. because they have never heard of it, even though it protects both parties.
  15. I don’t make gun parts or generate business for myself on gun boards, I just think anything to increase accuracy and/or reduce time has potential. If the bolt has to be cycled manually for any reason, which method is best?
  16. Since the gas tube is not used, put the action rod through instead. No fancy upper needed. Hand stays on gun, racks it like a shotgun.
  17. Would a pump action fore end instead of a side charging lever be better for ppc? I know they already have pump action ARs, but I’m talking about in addition to the semi auto blowback operation. Like a SPAS 12.
  18. For me it looks like the breakeven on money is at about 7 mags vs. a new, dedicated 9mm lower. Hmm.
