  1. Cz-usa sells a rubber base bad that switches out with the flat metal base pads. I have them on my cz 16 rounders.
  2. 16 rounders with rubber base pad are heavier and fall out better plus rubber takes the hits on concrete and rocks easier.
  3. The cz custom sights sit up a little high as the rounded slide top does not allow for a nice low fitted sight. It does look nice though and works well on my phantom.
  4. I made a baffle to sit on top of the crappy dillon one. Polished up the inside funnel and stoned all moving parts of the powder bar so they were smooth and flat. Unhooked the powder bar safety lever so no more jerky action of the powder bar and added a couple of the wife's elastic hair bands to return it to start position. Has helped my drops considerably.
  5. Just move bricks around. Ever seen a brick layers forearms?
  6. I run the longer ones back through the seating die and crimp after getting them all done. Seems to catch the longer ones and seat them closer to the number you are trying to hit.
  7. I have fit 2 kart 9mm ramped gunsmith fit barrels in my 1911s. One was an sti/fusion home build to replace the kkm barrel I had a gunsmith finish ream, which to him meant a 1/4" leade. I fixed that by turning it into a 9x23mm chamber. Wife wanted her 1911 back so I fitted a kart instead of kkm as the rifling twist is better. I had the kart barrel fitting kit and some building manuals that take you step by step on how to do it. Chambers were hand reamed with manson reamers. Fit the other barrel in my buddy's Springfield loaded 9mm. He was not happy with the accuracy of the stock parts and sent it back to springfield to fix. They told him it was fine and sent it back. I got the gun and the barrel and bushing were way too loose. Got him an oversized bushing from egw and kart barrel. Cut his groups in half and he is much happier with the performance. Used hand tools and emory cloth to fit the barrels and bushings. If you are handy and patient it can be done at home.
  8. Hornady 75 hpbt is good cheaper option as well.
  9. Signed up and am trying to get an idea of target sizes at distance. Wanting to see if my 1-4 will be enough for the long stuff. All they posted on practiscore is the pistol plate target size. Torso size targets I think I will be fine with my 4x
  10. One match specifically says 0-600 yd rifle shots and 0-50 yd pistol shots. I watched a video of a previous match at rockcastle in KY and they did 100 yd standing, 200 yd kneeling and 300 yd prone. That I can do with 55 fmj or my hornady TAP clones. I do have a 3-10 weaver grand slam tactical I may take for the longer range match but have to fix my bobro mount as I switched the scope from a different mount and found 2 screws sheered off of the rings. Will get more info on round count and distances after my check clears and I am officially registered. Just trying to get gear set up now. My strelok app lets me put in target size for the reticle view and can see what the target will look like at 600 yds. Gets pretty small. The video of the shorter range match had several low power scopes running around. I do have a grendel 20" but that thing is 5-6 lbs heavier than my 223.
  11. Got a couple of 5k run and gun matches coming up and one has possible 600 yd rifle shots. What do you guys do when you have close up shots and long range shots? Should I just make a bunch of 75 gr bthp loads and use them through the whole match or keep a couple 20 rd mags with the long bullets and the rest 30 rds with 55 grain for the close in stuff. Figure out to 300 yds should be fine for 55 gr and further shots use the 75 gr. Just worried they will be mixing the closer shots and longer shots in one shooting stage and have you alternate between the two so don't want to have to keep switching mags back and forth. I will be running a BCM 14.5" with SWFA 1-4 scope.
  12. Following this thread as I also need options for mag extensions
  13. I would use 2 steps to seat then crimp. When doing at the same time in the same die, the crimp starts before the bullet is fully seated and pushes the plating up like that.
