  1. Funny you mention that, I use nickle brass only in my 31 round big stick but mixed in my others.
  2. Lee, I've done the same thing with a dueling tree. It is very fun, but not legal. You run into the problem that the plates will bounce back and still be visable by the shooter. Most of my local shooters agreed with me that it was fun enough to let an illegal target slide in the match every so often. The plates on our tree are even smaller than plates on a plate rack so it ups the challenge.
  3. Same here, I went yesterday to start some testing and the skies opened up on me. I did test 2 different powders in one gun and found that just by changing to a different powder, I cut 1.5 seconds off of my tripple six times. My load with Silh. I averaged 11.2 seconds over 10 runs, my HS-6 load I averaged 9.7 seconds. Both loads chrono'd at 172 PF. I'm starting to see and think that a load that feels good, may not be the better load. The Silh. load feels good and I thought I loved this load. The HS-6 load hit my hand harder, but the dot track was amazing. My raw times on the 7 yard targets was identical, but the HS-6 load was always A hits. The Silh. load was about 50/50 A/C. More next week when I can do more testing in without the rain.
  4. OK, I've seen this mentioned several times. I know how to work up a load, but what exactly is chrono mapping and how do you do it?
  5. I have 4 for my Caspian custom that work great.
  6. Old fart huh? My mother just called me and reminded me that I'm not an old fart until 9:32 Pm eastern time. Thanks Mom Have a good one guys. I'm going to get to do my once a year practice at the range today
  7. Dave usually shoots here on the second Sat: SEPSA They are starting early to kind of avoid the heat. Shooting starts at 9:00 am
  8. Ouch, that hurt I have to finish the kitchen remodel before I can get to the range. I'm almost finished now.
  9. Hey Mario, it's only Tuesday! I have not gotten to it yet. Give me another week.
  10. How about a link to your site please. I'd also like to see how/if you can import the csv file into ezwin.
  11. It's a long boring story, but the ending is good
  12. Good stuff, thanks. All three guns are set-up identical except they each have a different comp.
  13. OK, I have 3 open guns with different comps on them that I want to test side by side by side. I am going to run 115's/121's and 125's through them all at about the same power factor. I am going to video shooting from the side as well as make notes after shooting each gun. What I need are some good drills that I can put the timer to and compare what is faster and slower. I know that the gun that shoots flatter may not always be the fastest gun on the clock. I do need a couple 3 or 4 easy to set up drills that I can do, that takes non shooting things out of the equation. Thanks.
  14. Matt give me more info on that new blaster. Slide weight and which comp he used.
  15. I have a Cheely built sight tracker with one on it. So far I like it a lot. I have not shot it in a match, so I can't comment there yet. I have noticed that a slightly missaligned reload will wedge the mag tight in the grip. Now that is with an empty mag, I'll see how it goes with a loaded mag on the clock in a couple of weeks.

I'm so glad Howard posted first
  17. I don't think we should be trying to judge the degree it effected the shooter to decide a reshoot or not. Just use the rule book. If you can determine the hits, score it, if not reshoot. No personal judgement involved as it should be. I have worked hard to shoot unpasted targets in practice so seeing one during a COF will not slow me down. I also do not think an unrestored target is REF either. The holes in no way presents a different shooting challenge to the shooter. After the buzzer shoot until you are finished or hear a stop command. Know the rules of the game before playing, or deal with the outcome.
  18. Every time I read that I chuckle and recall shooting a major with one of the bigger proponents of 9 Major a while back. Before the match was over he had a primer blowout (once-fired case) that locked up the gun and caused a DNF on a stage. I've never seen or heard about a Super/SC doing that. Open guns are all close to the edge, but 9 Major guns are a little closer it would seem. GMan, You are kidding right? You have never seen a 38 super blow a case or puke in a match? Or ever seen a 9mm major work for a whole match? If not come on over here, both of my Anglin guns have done nothing but run. I have seen more 40's blow a case than I've ever seen 9 majors. The ranges I practice on I loose most of my brass. When I shoot a match I normally end up on the timer or the palm and loose brass. With 9 major I can go back after the match and get some brass(or not) with no big loss. My match scores have not seemed to have dropped any shooting 9 major either.
  19. While paper may move the shooters 15 seconds faster in good weather, throw in a little bit of rain and the palms become way faster than paper.
  20. That can be done with no problems. And if you like to fish it's even better.
  21. Rich, the good part about the driving is that you are not expected to help set-up at the match. If you drive from Savannah, there are several locals that you could car pool with also.
  22. Hey now, I have the cmore, just no mounting screws.
  23. Anybody know the size and thread pattern of the cmore mounting screws( the big hex head ones). I have my new M41 with the Bully barrel 1:16, but I have lost the cmore mounting screws. It's terrible to see it sitting there and I can't shoot it yet.
  24. Nemo...mi amigo...Jacksonville is actually on the list. That city has a soft spot in my heart since I helped design the baseball stadium and the arena in downtown. Rich I voted GA, but I'm biased there. There is tons of shooting if you don't mind driving. On a more important note you helped design the baseball grounds here? The family and I spend lots of time there. we love it. If you did JAX you have 3 clubs pretty close by. Bobby, I knew there was something just not quite right about you, and now I know what it is.
