  1. Just reading through this thread, I noticed that one uses a wave spring, and the other doesn't. Could be something there?
  2. This is something I am wondering about, with the A5 tube I have been testing shorter positions, but I do like it stretched out.
  3. Yes it is. With a 308 carbine length spring only First change will be to just add the wave spring, with out removing any quarters. (Just put it behind the top one)
  4. Finally got to shoot it some last night. 200 rnds down the range testing and sighting it in. I am very pleased, it ran like a sewing machine! I am tempted to drop in the wave spring, but I think I need to have a better feel for this current base line set up before I go messing with it.
  5. I am not very sure how hot your rounds are, but I am guessingthat you can use an orange or red sprinco Because these are typically based on factory ammo
  6. Yep, I just ordered mine from them directly. https://www.blitzkriegcomponents.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RB5007 I am just using a cheap 308 carbine until I get it all dialed in, then I may buy a higher quality spring. What ammo are you using? That will determine what spring you want.
  7. To start, I just measured the inside depths of the Carbine tube vs. A5 tube, then caculated the difference, and made that up with a stack of quarters.
  8. Yes I am using the Vltor A5. I found This BCM one also, but it's a little more money that what I paid for Vltor through MidwayUSA
  9. I am going to guess you want to keep the weight if you are running factory ammo
  10. Start with quarters so you can make lots of adjustments. When you get it how you like it, measuring the stack of quarters will give you the spacer size.
  11. As stated above, remember to put a quarter (spacer once you get it figured out) between the regular spring and the wave spring.
  12. Both reasons. I could have found a longer stock to fit on a carbine length tube, but that's a pain, so now I can use any stock. But I really wanted the extra room for playing with the buffer.
  13. The bad part is that I may not even get to shoot it until next week sometime
  14. It's the 9mm blitzkrieg buffer Faxon BCG - just the way it came out of the package. I don't remember the total weight off the top of my head, but I think it was pretty good
  15. I am starting out with a 308 carbine spring with quarters taking up the rest of the difference in the A5 tube. We ran 2 mags through it, and it ran fine. I will play with it for a while (sighting it in, etc.) Maybe a couple local league matches, before I start messing with the the 223 spring or the wave springs etc.
  16. HST is my go to defensive ammo So if it will run in you gun, that's what I would use
  17. Here is what I am starting with, I will at least change the furniture, maybe the optic etc.
  18. It got here on Fri. We build this afternoon, after I get off work! It's been I long wait, and I am kind of excited.
  19. Tracking info says it will get here Saturday. I am going to try and build it on Sunday. I hope it makes it in time!
  20. Best I can come up with for ideas, is Magpul makes pink furniture https://www.gungoddess.com/products/magpul-ar-15-pink-furniture-3-piece-set and I know battle arms makes a pink safety lever. I know its not what you asked for, but just those two things would be pretty good I think
  21. I would definitely go with the cerakoting option.
  22. The vltor is on its way! I found one at MidwayUSA (It seemed to be Out of stock, everywhere else I looked)
  23. I have the blitzkrieg 9mm buffer, and a stack of wave springs. I will work something out! I will probably start with just the blitzkrieg and a 308 spring, in a standard length tube, as a base line, then go from there.
