  1. I have a brand new 9" Brigand Arms carbon fiber if you are looking for light weight. PM me for a great price.
  2. I flag my own without locking back. Hold forend with right hand, brace stock against left hip and pull charging handle back with left hand. Then flag with the right hand.
  3. The 510C is gaining a lot of following in Open as it makes it easier to find the dot especially from awkward positions. On PCC I find the outer ring distracting and the 2moa dot not ideal for USPSA. Currently running the C-More with an 8moa dot. Would go with a smaller dot like 4moa for a PCC specific match. It really comes down to prefence and I have an astigmatism for the the 65 moa rings give a halo effect.
  4. Faxom bolt is 14 5/8 oz with weight in. 12 1/8 oz with weight removed.
  5. My teammate just put a holosun on his Open pistol and likes it. Makes it easier to find the center dot. I tried an EOTECH for PCC after I blew the battery cover off my FF3 and found the circle really distracting. Switched to 8moa Cmore and I don't think it could be better.
  6. I had doubling and hammer fall with the Hyperfire. Switched to JP and have not had an issue. Either has my teammate. I think they have the best trigger on the market and it has been proven for like 20 years.
  7. I went with PSA upper and assembled a lower from KE Arms. JP trigger, Taccom 3 stage with short stroke upgrade. Ebay cheap comp and a Cmore. Runs exceptionally at this point. I don't think going high end on a PCC is needed. This coming from a guy that shoots a JP, DVC 3GUN and a tuned VM CT for 3 gun and 2 2011's for Limited USPSA.
  8. I brace against my body and yank the CH back. Either lock the bolt or stick in the flag.
  9. Mine does not lock back at all and it has not been an issue. For unloaded starts I use a 31rd mag with Mega extension and download from 57 to like 50 rounds. It would be nice for ULSC but not needed. Edit. I just took the delrin pad off the back of the spring and I can lock the bolt back manually.
  10. Short-Stroke upgrade is definitely a HUGE improvement. I posted up some results in the another thread.
  11. Strange. Will it reset if you hand cycle?
  12. I was able to get the Hiperfire to reset while short stoking using the standard 3 stage and spacer with less over travel than the taccom short stroke. I would get hammer follow intermittently. Switched in a JP trigger and zero issues.
  13. I was referring to not being able to adjust the weight of the buffer system.
  14. Ok so tested at 30ft shooting hammers with 3 different factory loads. I don't reload pistol so i wanted to see what worked best for factory ammo and figured a lot of guys could use this info. Here is how I felt they ranked in terms of felt recoil and dot movement. Flinched at least once on each target as I am shooting indoors and guns are louder in the stalls. 1) Federal Syntech 150gr Action Pistol Shot the softest with fast dot recovery. 2) Federal 124 gr Suppressor Load- Just slightly more movement than the top load but still extremely soft and easy to recover the dot. I use this in my DVC 3Gun and is my preferred load. I have not found anything that shoots softer in a handgun and I have tested almost every load from every major manufacturer. 3) Remington 115 gr FMJ (mislabeled on the target as FED 115gr) snappier as this is a full power 9mm load. Little bit more violent movement of the dot but still easily manageable. I attribute the tighter group here to clamping down really hard after the first couple shots.
  15. The speed will increase slightly as there is less mass to push but it is also less momentum for the spring to absorb. You can achieve similar results using heavy springs and heavy buffers as well. It is all about minimizing dot movement. The test my teammate and I did proved to us which system works better. Going out now to test with 3 different factory loads and see what works best. Will update in a bit.
  16. I ordered a PSA upper that was supposed to come with their Hybrid bolt but it came with a Faxom style bolt without the logo. Bolt weighs 12 1/8 oz weight weighs 2 1/2 oz total weight 14 5/8 oz Original Taccom 3 stage 7 1/8 oz Taccom with short-stroke upgrade 6 1/2 oz Spring 2 1/4 oz
  17. Less reciprocating mass/ inertia and I have the the Taccom set up so I cannot remove weight.
  18. My bolt does not go back far enough to lock open. I don't really care as I just stuff a mag in and cycle. I use a 57 round mag downloaded to around 50 rods. Have not had any issues.
  19. Had a chance to run 2 nearly identical guns side by side (1 port comp on bolt weight removed gun vs 2 port comp on full weight carrier) with 2 different shooters. . Both of us saw a NOTICEABLE difference in dot movement and spread when firing fast splits/hammers at 30'. There was less movement of the dot up and to the right with the weight removed and it also dipped less when the bolt came forward. Recoil impulse felt more subdued with the weight out. Target with the smaller groups is the two of us shooting my PCC with the weight removed. Larger group target is with full weight carrier. Both guns have the same triggers and optics. Not sure I can get it to shoot any flatter. Maybe adding a wave spring and a quarter at the back but I am pretty happy with the results at this point.
  20. Gun kicking up and right for righties is normally 556 guns do this that is why righties clock their brakes at 1 o'clock. Barrel twist can also cause torque the barrel left/right while upward lift is due to bolt hitting the receiver extensionextension higher than the center of the stock. The harder it hits the more lift you see but the shorter the stroke the faster it returns.
  21. Tried the short stroke upgrade today. Short review in other thread.
  22. Got the Taccom short stroke upgrade installed today. Feels a less violent than just running spacers and quarters. Did some limited testing with and without the bolt weight installed. Weight out kept the gun a bit better on target with as much downward bounce when the bolt closes. Will run more tests midweek when I get back to work. Definitely worth the $20.
