  1. Thanks, I appreciate it! Thanks to all of Ray's no-shoots it wasn't a clean match for me. But I was able to pull through somehow. As usual it was great seeing everyone. Thanks to Ray, Eric, Diane, Tony, Brian, and everyone else that put this match together at the last moment. D [edited to include Eric in the Thanks!]
  2. Mike, did you get your car lights turned off? I drove the entire range looking for you but you were no where to be found. Darren
  3. The attached results were just emailed out. D ILSectionalResults.zip
  4. Works for me. I often notice that I can't see the dot! But in regards to dot size I am still leaning towards wanting to drop to a 6 from an 8. Kevin, I'll trade you a used 6moa for a used 8moa? PM me if you're interested.
  5. Bob, I've always wondered why it seemed like the Rolla match was a tad more expensive as compared to other equal sized matches. I really appreciate the explanation and I now do not mind paying a little more to help you all out. You guys have done a great job. I'd like to see a few more major matches out there...and hopefully bring in some more money for the club. It was a fun match, however, I wish someone would steal those little square poppers.... Nice job to you and all your ROs! Darren
  6. I have a Western Arms Infinity Expert airsoft gun. It will occasionally fire one shot then not completely reset. Completely letting off the trigger won't reset it. However, if you move your hand around, especially move the thumb safety, you hear a click, then it will shoot. I've taken the thing apart and cleaned everything. I've lubed it up with silicone oil. I replaced the recoil spring with a new one, and the problem persists. Since manipulating the thumb safeties (which also probably allows the sear and disconnector to move a little) fixes the problem, I'm sure there is some friction somewhere in those parts. What I don't understand is what caused the problem? If it was only friction, the problem would have been present from the beginning. Anyone have any experience with this airsoft problem? I've done a google search but haven't come up with anything. Thx, Darren [edited for misspelled words]
  7. I'm going to have to unsubscribe from this thread so I'll forget about it....seriously.
  8. Steve, No worries...I wasn't offended....far from it. However, I do pay attention to comments like yours so that I can try to make things better if I can. This problem we are discussing was the reason why I created the StLouisShooters website. Having one place to go, instead of many, was the whole idea behind it. I just wish I didn't have to lock it down to keep spammers out. When it was open, I had a jerk register and post porn on it a couple different times. In fact, I'm looking at my email this morning and it looks like two spammers tried to register early this morning (3am). Take care, Darren
  9. That is the way I originally had it...but others wanted the results posted in a separate location. Also, sometimes I get results for matches that I didn't get an email/announcement for. Don't know why, but it happens. As others have said, you can't please everyone. Darren
  10. So you don't have to register on yet another site just to see results, here you go: Requiring registration keeps the spammers out.
  11. Yep, collet A. I was also thinking about squeezing the mouth of the collet back down but I hadn't thought about keeping the case mouth wider...that's a good idea. Regarding the case flare/bell....I wanted to continue using my Dillon 650 powder drop, so on my 9mm toolhead I took the powder funnel out and stuck it in the lathe to convert the tapered bell to a straight bell. Before I did this, the bullet would tip over. After straightening the bell, it worked great with no tipping. I ordered a second powder funnel for the .40sw toolhead...when it comes in I'll stick it in the lathe like I did the 9mm funnel but I'll leave it wider. I'll measure the inside diameter of the bullet feeder die at the bottom and then make the powder funnel bell a thou or so less to give me the larger mouth. It will probably take a day or so for the new powder funnel to get here...I'll let you know how it works. Thanks! Darren
  12. Yes, I'm talking about the collets in the feeder die. I think the Precision mollies are swagged aren't they? Maybe that's why they don't get stuck in the collet? I've tried BBIs and Bear Creeks and they would not go through the bottom collet (Collet A). I have some Precisions at home but I did not try them. ...I'll give them a try. Thanks, D
  13. Has anyone been successful getting their Hornady Bullet Feeder to work with molly coated bullets? I'm trying to run .40sw BBI molly coated bullets through and they won't drop through the second collet. I realized it's due to molly coating. Per Hornady, there's only a couple thou clearance normally between the bullet and the inside of the "Collet A". The molly coating can take up that space preventing the bullet from dropping through. So I got the brilliant idea of opening up the collet a couple more thou which allowed them to drop through. LOL. But now the collet won't hold them in place. Figures. Hornady doesn't recommend using molly coated bullets in their bullet feeder due to this problem. Regardless, I'd like to get it to run if I can. Before I continue tinkering with it, I thought I would see if any of you guys have solved this problem yet? I know the obvious solution is to switch to jacket bullets....I'm not interested in doing this....and would not use the feeder before I would switch to the more expensive jacket bullets. Thanks for the help! Darren
  14. I've been tossing around the idea of mass producing them. I've made a handful for friends. I have one for a right-handed shooter available immediately ...would have to make another for a lefty (the one in the picture went to Jordan Ohlmann) but it wouldn't take very long. If you're serious about it, send me a PM. Thanks, Darren PS: The long one in the back was a special thumbrest for my dad's gun - he has a serendipity. You're probably aware that if you over-tighten the screws on a serendipty, you can crack the plastic. We figured that doing a "sandwich" clamp on the serendipty would prevent the cracking..and better yet, kill two birds with one stone by making it a thumbrest.
  15. Here are some that I made that allow you to keep your thumb at it's natural angle PLUS the rest doesn't have to be removed to take your slide stop out: For Left handed shooter:
  16. Area 3 was a fun match. Squad 29 was awesome. Thanks to everyone that helped put the match together and thanks to the sponsors for providing a great prize table! Darren Squad 29: Photos courtesy of J. Griffin
  17. Can you give us an update on how many people are signed up? Thx. D
  18. The sear bounced off the hammer due to the force of the slide coming forward. This is sometimes referred to as a "slam fire". Some gunsmiths will drop the slide on an empty chamber after a trigger job in order to see if a slam fire will occur. However, as previously mentioned, dropping the slide on an empty chamber is not normally recommended. The reason why your sear bounced off is probably because you don't have enough tension on the left leg of the sear spring OR the angle of the sear is wrong OR your hammer hooks are too short OR you don't have enough travel in your trigger. D
  19. +1 I'd kill anyone that did this to my gun.
  20. You're looking for a slide racker for the XDm? Do you want it to fit in the rear dove tail or something else?
