  1. It implies nothing. Staccato owns the trademark for "2011." Nobody else can use it, so it's 2311, double-stack 1911, etc. Can you be more specific, since there are multiple manufacturers in Turkey (just like the US)? What specific manufacturing or materials quality defect information do you have re: Tisas? That's the point here, for sure. The value of the Lira vs. the USD makes these a slam dunk to import at much lower price points than US made guns. Tisas also has good aftermarket warranty service (where Girsan requires you pay shipping BOTH WAYS).
  2. Girsan and Tisas are two different companies. Tisas is the production unit for MAC, based on MAC's specs, and they're each bringing out their own line of double stacks alongside what Girsan brought to market. Girsan is very hit and miss and their production lines show it. The XX11 side of the house is ROUGH. Their Beretta 92 and Hi-Power clones are much, much better. Nobody I know with a Girsan 2311 got a great trigger out of the box... not at all. Interestingly, Tisas reportedly makes some of the parts that end up in the Springfield SA-35.
  3. He probably isn't up to speed on Turkish manufacturing capabilities. Lots is changing there quickly.
  4. I have both and it feels like the slide is a little slower on the 5". The 4.25" felt right out of the box for me.
  5. Thanks. Saw $900 all stainless guns then saw this at $450 and said "I can make that happen."
  6. This one was fantastic out of the box. 3.5# trigger and a tight fit. I'm down to 3# after a little sear spring bending and where I want to be. Only thing I'm holding out for is the magwell MSH from Tisas. Should restock in a few weeks... and I want to keep it Tisas where I can just because.
  7. Wanted a stainless 1911. Tisas sells one that is mostly stainless with black parts. A couple of replacement parts later (plug, mag release) and some H-147 Cerakote by Scattered Rock Armory in Liberty Hill, TX, and voila... 99% stainless. Now I just need to figure out the grips I want. Not for competition... just a small pet project.
  8. No update from me, but after some work done on a Glock 22C, I'd have no problems sending it back to Green Tick Tactical to do. https://greenticktactical.com/products/1911-optic-cuts I ended up getting a matching .40, so I have a matched pair of 9mm/.40 cal Eagles now. Not sure I'm actually going to mill one anymore.
  9. See, I read "hold up" as asking about durability and fitness, not performance. It's a lighter gun, so slightly more felt recoil, but I resprung mine to 10# with a shok-buff and 128-130PF loads. Very controllable. That's going to change per person, though, based on load, speed, etc. It's functionally the same platform as a 2011, so tunable to most degrees.
  10. I'd compare it favorably to an Eagle, for sure.
  11. Hold up how? Goes bang every time, puts bullets where the dot says to. If I'm being honest, I like the full, rougher 2011 grips a little better, but HandleIt has the gritty carbide sticker grips for the Platypus now and that helps a lot. The aluminum, even with the dimple texture, gets slippery when sweaty.
  12. Well crap. I bought their 1911 one because it was "close enough." Now I should go back and replace them.
  13. Mine's run like a buttered hog... great gun. Very happy so far! I did add more grippy stuff to the grip.

  15. My custom holster for my M&P 5.7 w/TLR 1 + optic came in today. "Elephant gray" leather, OWB, with a one-way snap thumb break and one-way snap belt loops (to prevent rip-away from belts). Designed to fit a little higher than mid-ride and close-in, it'll be my EDC holster either under a cover shirt (usually), IDPA-style, or simply open (in places where that wouldn't be uncommon). Built by Ronin Leather, we went through a drawing/design process, leather choices, reinforcement choices, etc. before I committed and he built. Took about 4 weeks or so with some minor delays for "just life things," but nothing unreasonable from a custom maker. It's got a break-in procedure and I've started through that - will take a couple of days of sitting/drawing before it's ready for carry. Very, very, pleased with the quality and process.
  16. Never replied to this. Got my prescription updated, ordered both a Gold and Ruby pair. Got them and got to try them - night and day difference, very comfortable and no issues with fogging (even wore them at an all day range event). Used my FSA to pay for them. VERY pleased. Looking at a non-safety pair of AktivBlu for regular use (driving, fishing, etc.).
  17. That's exactly the point of the suit, it seems. That doesn't appear to be happening today and it's having effects on individual members in what's alleged to be a capricious manner, along with not doing the things that constitution running the organization in a reasonably civilized manner. Will be interesting to see what comes out of this.
  18. Discovery of text messages from personal cell phones should be fun, as should personal emails between board members, AD's, etc.
  19. Wonder who owns that domain. Registered late last year through a private hosting/registrar company. Not me.
  20. Because a void corporation may not have standing to act against a member of the organization.
  21. https://www.harborfreight.com/screw-extractor-and-left-hand-drill-bit-combo-set-10-piece-63987.html The smallest bit and extractor in there would be what you need. #6 screws are .138 wide, 5/64 = .078. You don't need to drill far - just enough to get the extractor to bite. Heat it up with a heat gun or torch (slowly) first to loosen the loctite.
  22. I read your initial reply asking what it stood for as sarcastic (referencing their smallness/newness) and made the point that the effort to do that vs. doing one simple Google search that would have gotten the answer seemed a bit disingenuous. It's small and lesser known, but all of their information is freely available online.
