  1. 5.5.5 is for PCC's, not handguns. Published velocity is 1650. No idea what the test barrel was and I haven't chronoed it yet (got a little sample to try - haven't fired a single round yet. Online reviews indicate it disintegrates/doesn't spall, but again, no real idea of distance, angle, etc.
  2. Almost like someone should invent a thing where you can post information everyone can read... give it a standardized name... and make it easy to search. "pcsl shooting" got me the first result on my search.
  3. Anyone here shot or shooting Norma 65gr / 107PF ammo for Steel Challenge (or loading something similar)? What's your experience been? Thinking about getting some to try out.
  4. Now that PCSL has a published ruleset, planned matches, etc., is it time to add them to the existing USPSA/IDPA forums here (rules, announcements, discussions)? After watching a video today I went and looked at the rule book, planned match list, etc. and I'll probably spend more time going through it later but it looks interesting. Also looks very much still in progress. I searched, but outside of a specific USPSA politics thread I didn't find another mention of it.
  5. Interesting advice. I had a good chat with Chris at HG today - will see how well I take to everyday progressives next week then mar a decision. I don’t want to have to worry about head tilt when shooting.
  6. Does anyone have/know the thread measurements of the endcap on the Sidewinder 9? Trying to see if it’s ASR Alpha compatible (1.125x28).
  7. School me on prescription glasses. I got a prescription for the first time last year for slight nearsightedness. Got single vision glasses that helped with distance, but had to take them off for up close. Got my prescription updated THIS year and ordered my first ever pairs of progressives, using Visionworks Digital Progressive, which should help reduce head tilt (I'll find out next week). Also have an astigmatism that the older pair REALLY helped with. Looking at HD Ruby, but not sure what type of lens to go with. Clearing up the astigmatism will help most, clearing up slight blur at a distance second, but not at the expense of making things blurry up close. Folks with similar eyes have any advice on what kind of lenses to consider? Single focus? Bifocal? Progressive? What's worked for you in shooting?
  8. Because it wasn't brought up until you got called out - it's a distractor - and doesn't have anything to do with this thread. Feel free to start one if you'd like it documented for posterity and you can educate us all.
  9. I don't find misleading others fun. Call me crazy.
  10. Considering things get ingested into and spat out by search engines, not being intentionally wrong in a way that can mislead others seems like a better approach.
  11. When did P320's switch to using clips?
  12. Yes, it's a 1911 trigger. Much improved, especially if you ask them for a competition weight trigger. Yes, although I'm adding some sandpaper grips to mine because of the heat and sweat. It's fine dry... wet it needs grip tape, etc. It is *slightly* thinner, mostly because there are no grip panels (it's machined in) and the glock mags are slightly narrower. Without putting one in your hand you're not going to know.
  13. No 1911/2011's, but quick feedback and a referral to Impact Machine.
  14. Thanks, all, this gives me some options to reach out to. I don't expect the Eagle will have the slide width for an RMR cut without a plate but I'm okay with that. I'll start doing my homework on these three.
  15. Handicraft. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075BCRLSM
  16. I see several places on the internet - anyone have recommendations vs. google searches for places that do a good job milling STI Eagles for RDS's? Likely an RMR cut for the new Holosun competition optic, which I understand will require a milling + plate solution because of the slide width. Is CHPWS the default provider here at about $250 for a plate solution? Someone else? Dawson wants $600 for DPO milling. Will Staccato still do this directly?
  17. It's for any Docter-footprint optic. Note that the Vortex Venom and Burris FF III will NOT fit, however, because the optics cut is straight in front and both of those optics curve, so they're too long. I'm actually a BIG fan of the new FF IV. My III's have been durable, and the IV has multi-reticle, including what's essentially an 11 MOA dot. Much bigger window, too. Springfield is out of their mind with the plates, though, with the new pricing. CHPWS is making compatible plates, and any other AOS compatible plate should work as well. It's like they're making up losses on return-and-fix for the first batch by up-charging for accessories. Bad form.
  18. Yep. I’m not having a problem with mine.
  19. Thanks, Stick, this may be what I go with.
  20. Whereas my OEM trigger is getting better every 500 rounds. I don’t have a problem with the components they’ve included, but I understand some people want different materials.
  21. 1500+ rounds through two (4.25, 5) on OEM parts and no issues. My 5” if the one with the updated slide and spring.
  22. Thanks, all. Anyone have experience with this Midway bag? https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1020438366?pid=776487
  23. My current range bag has a center compartment that’s too small. I need a new bag. First priority is usable space, second priority is BIFL durability. My typical match loadout is two guns in sleeves, 12 fully loaded mags (I hate reloading at matches), lead wipes, liquid chalk, sunscreen, bug spray, a small bottle of CLP, a small bottle of oil, a small cleaning kit, a small tool kit, eye/ear pro, IFAK with tourniquet, and a small towel, and some small accessories/bits. The IFAK and cleaning kit are molle compatible and could attach to the outside of a different bag (IFAK should, not could). What I don’t want is a 36” monster duffle size bag I have to haul between stages. Every backpack seems made for “4 or 5 guns” which isn’t my loadout. Backpacks on wheels here don’t work well because of gravel. Thoughts? Ideas?
