  1. Just a heads up, I recently switched everything to the QLS system and consolidated holsters across my USPSA, SCSA and GSSF setups. I’ve had great experience with AdamsGear in terms of quality, fit, and customizability at time of purchase. One more to look at. https://adamsgearsolutions.com/
  2. The last GM class shooter I shot Steel Challenge with had some good advice about my draw, and we essentially shot with him pushing me / coaching me on faster draw techniques. Was worthwhile. A lot of times folks can see things that "if you did this, you'd shave off 3 tenths of a second, and that's 1.2 seconds from your stage score."
  3. They're helpful when picking squads. I try to squad with better shooters to see what they do differently.
  4. You put down whatever is listed on your classification record.
  5. As with anything, which rule in the rulebook allows it? Hint: Start with Appendix D4, #21, and go from there.
  6. I think we all are... in different ways. It's why I think LO should have mirrored Limited, not Carry Optics, so you had Major and Minor. There's nearly zero difference using a polymer 9mm in CO vs. LO Minor, other than a magwell and thumb rest.
  7. I'd argue the Glock 24 can handle major loads all day long. Assuming trigger mechanics aren't the reason and assuming the 3rd party trigger options resolve that issue for a shooter at the A+ level, the question comes down to two things: capacity and gun performance. Generally, the CZ's/2011's are heavier and have +2/+3 more rounds in a 140mm mag, so they "win" on both fronts. You can tune springs on both guns, so that's not a likely factor. You can replace sights on both guns, so that's unlikely. It comes down to "why shoot a 25 oz gun, base, when I can shoot a 45 oz gun, base." Sure, with the advent of non-functional, brass filled flashlights, things have changed in that division a bit, but I'd expect a .40 polymer competition pistol to handle major power factor just fine. How it handles is likely the issue.
  8. I'm just waiting for Staccato to make a .40 and all of a sudden .40 cal be the new hotness again. "10mm short! Tactical advantage! Heavier bullets, bigger hollow points!"
  9. That's absolutely gone. I bought mine more than a year ago at $4500/acre and comps around me are above $8000/acre already.
  10. You're years too late. Yet it will continue to appreciate!
  11. Not to mention gun weight - polymer vs. metal. How many folks running a 22oz OEM Glock 34 in Limited/Open?
  12. Mine certainly isn't smooth, but "golf ball" would be a close analogue. They're not competition aggressive, but I think they're making them for the middle ground.
  13. I don't know what "wooden" means in this context. I also have no concept of how you grip a gun, so are you talking about a combat/competition grip, squeezing it between your hands? Part of it is 1911's fit my hands best, so the grips feel more natural to me. I'd still love a little more like the aggressive G10's on my Springfield but it's not hampering my shooting, and nothing I couldn't fix on a per-match basis with a little coban tape.
  14. No idea how to quantify that. You can also choose. I chose chainlink all around and I'd rate it moderate. Not as grippy as dragon scale or talon/skate tape, but better than plastic 1911 grips. With liquid chalk I get get on it and my hand "fills in" to the dimples. I may look at some way to add clearcoat/texture at some point just to always have it there... but it's basically lots of small dimples in aluminum all around, front back and sides.
  15. Interesting. More than Stealth would charge, but available now. Not a horrible deal.
  16. No regrets. It's my first custom gun and it's really well made. I'm still getting used to it, but that's on me and doing more dry fire draw practice. It'll shoot where I tell it to shoot and has been 100% reliable. Enough that I'm considering buying a custom 1911 from them at some point down the road... There's already one for sale online? How much?
  17. I suspect not. Feed/ramp is likely different. I haven't looked (and they are hand fitted, so it wouldn't be a drop-in). What are you wanting different?
  18. Yeah, it's tougher for me to get west than east - I'm about 15 miles south of Fairplay near Antero Reservoir when I'm there. I appreciate the help, though.
  19. Pueblo's match looks perfect. Not too far away that I have to leave at stupid-AM.
  20. Coming to Fairplay for a month in July. Good ranges there for practice, but would love to find some local USPSA/SCSA matches either weekend or weeknight. Would prefer NOT to go into Denver, but would consider Buena Vista, Salida, Breckenridge, Florissant, etc. Can't find great options online. Anyone live out that way with ideas?
  21. I have a competitor's 11MOA and love it. If you're looking at their stuff, 10MOA is great for USPSA.
  22. That helps a lot - makes it easy to source the right parts for the 4.25" 2.0. Will try it out of the box first to see what, if anything, I want to change.
