Thanks for the reply's, I'm still trying to get the feel of this machine my 650 I have down but this one is a bit tougher. I talked to dillion today and they said to file it flat , why have other suggested on a 45 degree angle ? to a point?? I have noticed now that I think of it a little more pressure sometimes but just figured it was a case that maybe needed more sizing. Thanks !!

I'm getting a frequent primer drawback, decaping station knocks most of them out but not all, die is adjusted correctly as far as I can tell, I'm constantly watching the primer cup to make sure the spent primer drops, loading 5.56 / 223 mixed military and standard brass, seems dangerous as the spent primer gets sucked back in the live primer is smashed into it. never know it happens until it drops into the bin . starting to wonder if I made a mistake buying the 1050.... seems like I cant get thru 100 rounds without some sort of jam or failure. mostly primer issues and case jams as it is loaded on the shell plate. I took the back clicker off tonight as it started acting up and jamming for some reason odd that it looks like it has been sanded on one side , appears bent and its stating to crack. My swage rod jam nut came loose and now the rod feels bent as it doesn't turn freely , rough night reloading pretty frustrated at the moment.

3995 for the basic machine, 2 k for a dillion 1050 hard to justify the difference . my 1050 works great.

I built my own because I thought they were to expensive as well, I improved it several times to it's current set up and it runs perfect I wish I had a better video of it but it gets crappy loading it into youtube. I have allot of R&D invested into this as I got a little obsessed with making it perfect. mine is much simpler then the mbf as it doesn't flip the bullets which is the big head ache setting them up. this is not a 3d printable feeder it was made on a cnc router out of uhmw has a aluminum welded support bracket that just simply bolts to the machine using the factory holes just longer bolts. Proximity switch turns it on / off, has a modified mr bullet feeder die will do all calibers buy a simple change of the plate. here is the video

just build your own bullet feeder it's easy to do all you need is a 125 thousand dollar cnc some programing experience a welder proximity switch few electrical connections and about 2 months of screwing with it.

650 is great but feels like a toy when you get a 1050.

better hope you don't have to poor a bunch of money into them No warranty after 1 year.

after owning a 1050 for a couple of weeks, I would go 1050 all the way and add the bullet feeder later the 650 and 1050 are two completely different animals. even thought the 650 is a really nice machine it feels like a toy along side the 650. would love to try and use a mark7 just to see if it's one step beyond the 1050. Maybe in a few years after they get all the bugs worked out of manufacture and get some stock built up.

Now that I have the design all figured out and it works perfectly sure it's totally worth it. it's allot more difficult then most people think. The prototypes some times felt endless, some things worked while others not so much. I have a pile of parts in almost every part of this project that didn't work . there are hundreds of videos on line with these feeders most of them very crude with the same basic design , mine is different .

I just picked up a 1050 for my .223 and it's a great machine, I did carbide dies and have them on my 650 as well it only comes with 1 primer tube which I thought was lame considering what the thing cost. just be prepared to keep things filled up because it can crank out the rounds. they come pre set up for loading but mine needed adjustments it was close but the primer decap was not deep enough and a few other things. make sure you mount it out near the edge of your work bench or the handle will hit the bench before it fully indexes they dont say how far in the instructions. mine was 2.5 inches back from the edge and it wasn't enough.

As much as I like my 650 I would buy another 1050 in a heart beat, the 650 is a very nice machines but feels like a toy compared to the 1050.

I built this bullet feeder for my 650 and after it worked so well I decided to buy a 1050 for .223 and make a bullet feeder for it as well. They run perfect and it's spits out bullet faster then you can reload them. I designed this after looking at all the other bullet feeders that flip the bullets, this one just rejects the upside down Bullets and kicks them back into the tub, much simpler with no adjustments.

I have a 650 with a bullet feeder I made on my cnc works great, but just bought a 1050 and currently setting up with another bullet feeder I made for that one, side by side the 650 looks like a toy compared to the 1050 it's defiantly a heavy duty commercial type machine that is built with precision. Not that I don't like the 650 because it is a great machine, but the 1050 is in another world by itself. going to post some pictures of my set up as soon as I get the 1050 running.

I might be selling my 650 since I ordered a 1050 just got to see when it shows up. my local dealer is having a 10 percent off Dillon for there black Friday but I'm in Oregon so the shipping might be an issue

I know it will take 10 k rounds to break even and that seemed like allot when I bought the 650 but it only took about two years loading the 9 mm to break even . I know ammo is fairly cheap now but there were times that you couldn't find any. I did go ahead and order the1050 and if it doesn't work out on the .223 I will get a 9 mm conversion or whatever I'm shooting at the time and load with that. the good thing about Dillon is they seem to retain there value pretty well.

I'm having a hard time deciding , I currently have a 650 that I use for 9 mm and .357 sig with a bullet feeder I built on my cnc router that works like a dream. I'm shooting more out of my AR .223 so I'm thinking 1050 mainly because of the swage. I know I can get a hand model from dillion or that after market one but a 700 dollar difference between the 650 and 1050 is not chump change. I'm still going to have to get a auto trimmer as all my once fired cases are 10 to 15 thousands long before resizing them which I find odd. I have never used or even seen a 1050 up close was hoping my local dealer would have one or knew of someone but he said he has only sold one in the last 2 years. need some help here convincing myself the 1050 is the way to go. considered doing the caliber conversion but would just like to leave things alone as the 650 is working perfect. Yes just a small amount of crimp, I did quite a bit of research on the .357sig here trying to head off any problems . so maybe just the way it goes up the feed ramp ?? it's not much but maybe I'm being a little to critical. thanks for the reply

when I drop the round in the barrel it plops and falls right back out. so it's not wedging in so maybe I'm not getting good measurements. I will recheck again .

Is it normal for a round to set back a little after going into battery? I just started reloading .357 sig with a 650 , 124 grain bullet flat nose tapered RMR, 12 grains of # aa9 , cci 500 and speer case. 1.140 oal after I but it goes into battery then remeasured it's a few thousands shorter on the oal is this normal ? I might add that it has a very slight crimp.

I looked at the GSI bullet feeder, main thing I didn't like was having to buy parts to run each different 9mm bullet. The Mr. BF includes everything to load the different combinations of 9mm bullets. Good to know, Thank You!

Gsi are 500 bucks for the 650 about the same price as a mbf. I think I'm going to go with the Gsi.

has anyone ordered the Gsi bullet feeder unit ? I like that it rides right on the machine and as I have heard the owner of GSI use to work at Dillon for 20 years and that 650 was named after him, ( Xavier loader 650 )
