  1. I'd like to learn, so I ask. I don't have one of those holsters. Perhaps I need to invest in one. I have 12-15 months to decide. Here is a link to those type of holsters. http://www.doublealpha.biz/race-master-holster
  2. I am in the same time frame as you. I picked the DLC option for my finish on the whole thing. My gun will look like pic 3121 from the gallery with the exception of the Signature grip and short flat trigger for my girly hands and RH release button.
  3. I am in the same boat. My hand length is 7.75" and circumference is 7.5". Here is a pic of my TS when I first got it. I just sent it to Automatic Accuracy for frame reduction. Now, SVI does have small grip if you wish to order an SVI Infinity. Add a curved trigger and you are set.
  4. Well, just submitted a design for 5.4" barrel .40 S&W USPSA Limited gun. The cosmetics are to be similar to this: Differences being rear serrations on the slide going over the SVI logo, curved trigger, micro tactical grip, and configured for a lefty. Not sure about the type of barrel, and some of the internals will have to discuss that with the factory. I was pretty happy that they could build me a gun despite CA draconian handgun roster regulations though we will have to jump through some regulatory hoops.
  5. I did the plunk test as I was about to do the weekly firearm cleaning anyway. Every one but two passed. I had one raised primer that was in the pic. So, three out of about 1,400 rounds rejected. I feel better. I will still save the "plunk test" ones just for the range though. I backordered the undersize die from Midway.
  6. Precision Delta I am using is is FMJ TC not coated lead bullets. https://www.precisiondelta.com/products/bullets/bullets-9mm-147-fmj-tc.html
  7. Correct. Looks like the Lee undersized dies are out of stock everywhere. I will do the plunk test for the rejects as I don't want to pull that many bullets. I have to load 3K+ rounds for use in the next couple of weeks.
  8. I'll do the chamber check on the firearm with the rounds that failed. I did not have this problem with Dillon dies on the .45s. I am following the manual, as a matter of fact the Dillon tech support suggested I actually go as far as I could beyond "just touching" on the sizing die. Now, it seems that I have a set of Lee dies in 9mm, standard carbide. Is that the dies you guys are talking about or is there a special Lee undersize die? Here is a pic of some of the rejects:
  9. OK. Went to replace the hinge pin with a straight paper clip piece after taking off the magnet. It looks like it is loose enough now to open freely without a weight. Live and learn. If it starts happening again, now I know what to do. Edit: Thanks to all for the helpful suggestions.
  10. Using mix range brass and Precision Delta 147 grain bullets. About 7 - 10% of cartridges do not make the case gauge. It seems to be independent of the brass manufacturer. Kinda driving me nuts. this is on a 550B using Dillon dies. Any hints? Thanks in advance.
  11. OK. Further investigation revealed that the chute was not opening at all and getting stuck in the closed position. I followed one of the suggestions and put a magnet on the chute which made it open every time I lowered the lever. However, after a while the magnet would move and then I'd have to reposition it to make it work again. I will buy some super glue tomorrow and permanently affix the magnet (I guess any kind of weight would do in reality) so the chute would be top heavy enough to open every time I lower the lever. I m surprised it does not come from the factory that way.
  12. I'll look at the de-priming pin. The dies are new though as I recently switched to shooting 9mm while my CZ TS .40 gets ready.
  13. Heh, I have 100 out of 100 flying at the moment. So, 1 out of a hundred would be an improvement.
  14. I had the same issue on 45 ACP cases that were wet tumbled to be super clean. A second or two of Hornandy One shot fixed the problem.
  15. The spent primers jump out to every place but the cup. Floor, the case tray (which causes its own issues if one gets in a case), the finished round tray etc. etc.. It is even more of a pain when it gets on the track preventing the primer holder coming back. This is BEFORE it gets into the chute, in other words the primers are going everywhere but into the chute. Doing a search I see a lot of mentions of this problem, but they were related to the chute not releasing into the spent primer cup properly. The machine is new, and this started occurring couple of hundred rounds into loading brass that still had primers. Thanks for any info in advance. Edit: The following item would not work ( http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1346-550) as it replaces the cup and still assumes the Dillon chute working.
  16. I just throw it in the trash. Probably run into two or three in each thousand or so once fired I buy.
  17. I need reading glasses and the front sight is blurry to me without glasses though have a 20/20 vision for distance. I had http://decot.commake me shooting glasses where left side is +0.75 and the right side is clear (Lefty and left eye dominant). This enables me to see the front sight and the targets in the distance. Might be a better option than bifocals.
  18. How far from the edge of the bench is the inline fabrication mount? Also, notice the 1050 is forward of it, how far from the edge is the 1050?
  19. How close does the 1050 needs to be mounted to the edge of the workbench? I guess I can gain a bit of room by using a 6" ultra mount from inline fabrication to mount the press on.
  20. Hmmm, I had to Google Mark 7. I think that is an overkill for what I intend to do, plus it probably voids Dillon warranty. If I was in the business of selling reloads I can see it.
  21. I have a 550B, looking at my logs I loaded and fired 3,600 hundred rounds last month. I am at a pace to do the same for almost every month this year and some months even more as I will be going to St. George, Utah to train at TPC 3-6 days a month each month (about 2K rounds per 3 day trip). I will keep the 550B as I hunt and use it like a single stage for rifles but the toolheads are very convenient. So, the choice comes to 650 or the 1050 as I am not keen on spending 10+ hours each month reloading on the 550B. I read the "Which Dillon" post and seems I am at the top range for the 650 and lower range for the 1050. Assuming price is not a factor (after all it is a one time purchase) what are the pros and cons? It would be set up for one caliber and not change.
  22. According to Hodgdon 4.8 of Titegroup is max pressure. What fps are you getting with your loads?
  23. Looking to shoot Limited with a CZ TS in a few months once it comes back from grip reduction. I have N320, Titegroup and Bullseye in sufficient quantities (leaning towards N320) along with Federal Match primers. What bullet choices would you recommend, and why? I am looking at Xtreme, Berry's HPs for plated and Zero, Precision Delta, and Montana for FMJ. I had good results with Xtreme in the past but that was with a .45. I am looking to buy a few cases to start once a decision is made. Thanks in advance.
  24. If you need a bullet feeder, then you need to move up to 650. Most bullet feeder systems use a slot on the tool head, and the 550 does not have a spare. Here is an inexpensive option for the 650 or 1050. http://www.doublealpha.biz/mini-mr-bulletfeeder
