  1. The gun is one year old with approx 1,200-1,500 rounds through it. I put about 400 over the past two days. Out of the 8 mags I've set aside 4 that are giving me some issues but will be cleaning and inspecting all of them. For IDPA next week I may just use the new Wisom ETM that I have. Is there a break in period that I need to be aware of?
  2. Great advice. I will look at that too....How often have you guys replaced springs in the mags?
  3. Maybe my issue is I'm shooting factory reload 147 grain. I'm buying a Dillon 650 next week and getting set up. Should I run 124rn instead? I hope to be able to load one round that will run in my shadow as well but that may be a pipe dream
  4. The gun came with 8 Dawson Precision Supreme Mags....so far 4 work flawlessly and the other 4 or so so. The new ones I have are 6 of the Wilson ETM. I will give them a try as well
  5. I am currently using a Shadow 2014 CZC Custom for IDPA and will start using the DW some as I am already more comfortable with it. Just want to be sure it feeds well and has minimal issues. Most of my IDPA is indoors with outdoors once a month at this point. This thing shoots so well......it's amazing.
  6. Shot my new PM9 yesterday and what a great shooter!!!!! Taking the gun down, cleaning, and reassembly is easy but I am not really familiar with the single stack mag cleaning. What is the preferred method of cleaning and how often? I want them to run well with out hiccups. Yesterday I had a couple mags stop feeding after the first round or two and I will be inspecting them and cleaning them. A friend recommended using a 12g bore snake to run through the mags and magwell. To clarify I was shooting 147 reman loads. Perhaps they are too heavy and/or too long.....

Some day I will try my RAMI in BUG. It's amazingly accurate and shoots like its bigger brothers.
  8. Very helpful thank you. I am finding that the mental learning curve is the toughest for me.....
  9. I am finding that! Thank you all for the warm welcome Matt
  10. Sorry to bring back an old thread but I am 38 and this year I have noticed my vision getting blurry. It takes a while to get my eyes focused on targets at any distance. Racing RC cars is a hobby I have and seeing the car across a large track is hard now. About three or four years ago my eyes developed floaters and they have gotten worse. Eye doc said nothing could be done for them but shooting indoor IDPA with those lights is torture. Monday I have an eye doctors appointment and am so ready to get glasses or contacts! Hopefully it will help my shooting to see better again.
  11. I had the same thing happen when I went from the SIg P320 plastic gun to my Shadow. Empty mag makes a huge difference in weight and speed when it is coming up from the draw. I was overreaching everything with the extra weight and especially so when I was practicing with an empty gun and then shooting in a match. The switch from a polymer gun to a heavy gun has taken a while to get used to when talking about site acquisition.
  12. I learned quickly that chatting it up is not the best thing for me. When I am about three spots away I shut it all out and start breathing deeply and thinking it all through. If I have ran through it all in my head prior and am comfortable then all I worry about is the draw and instincts and muscle memory kick in from there. For some reason after about 7 months it all started clicking. Now to just actually work on speed, etc.
  13. I have a custom shadow as well and have been shooting it in ESP so the DA has not been something I have had to deal with. The DA pull on my gun is sooooo smooth that when shooting at the range and practicing dry fire it is almost a seamless exchange from DA to SA. That's just my 2 cents from a newer IDPA shooter.
  14. I started in January of this year. A buddy had been bugging me for a long time and I finally gave in. It's been a fun year and I've learned a lot. For me it's a great way to destress and hang out with friends. As I get more serious into it it's now more about my skill or lack thereof. Trying new things and learning to run the stage in my head prior to the buzzer going off. Looking forward to 2016!
  15. Thanks for letting me join. I'm a new CZ enthusiast. It's quite addictive. Looking forward to browsing and contributing at some point. Matt
