Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I found with the M&P if I canted the gun, it moved the recoil more "up and down" and less off on the angle. Saw it on a Saul Kirsch you tube clip, with a pretty good explanation on why this works (lack of the second hand meaning a point of lesser resistance that the gun will move to). This was a big factor in improving my SH/WH shooting in IPSC stages.... I have only just moved to an SP-01, so not sure on if it will hold true, though theoretically I see no reason for it to be different... Good luck! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the tips, I will knuckle down on the drills and see how I go....... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Hey all, Have seen a few threads on double action trigger pulls for SP -01's and such, but where I am having issues is the subsequent transition to the following single action shots... I find the change on the trigger is throwing me out, and (having dry fired to get my DA to where it needs to be) was wondering if there were any drills/tips/techniques that may help me to beat this..... Thanks in advance..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Oh - and I only got one round on that last drop turner..... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Should be there now...says awaiting for final processing, but seems to work when I hit play... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  8. So..... Santa was generous, and I scored an action camera. After an early December baby, last weekend was my first run out to the range (rest assured I have been keeping up on the dry fire). The plan is to use the cam to help me improve, and, I thought, why not put it out there for some additional input (we are a small club, so access to hi level critique is a bit lacking). Points I have already picked up on..... - need to work on my reloads (note failing to seat the mag on 1st one...) - was a bit off sequence on the 3 tgts with the swinging PT, so waited for Tgt to clear... - was a little sloppy on the first set of steel (5 plates/poppers).. Sidebar - shooting in Australia, so limited to 10 in the mag ( thank you crap gun laws...) Be brutal if you need, the aim is to improve...... Cheers... 9. Wow, can't believe all the great advice and discussion I have kicked off, and a little star struck on advice from a couple of my real hero's in shooting (Brian and Ben). You guys have quite a following down in Australia. I will try "ripping a few into the berm", and rest assured my work on split times is only 1 element of my training plan/development. 10. Thanks all, have been working the Bill Drills, and seeing some improvement, and I think focusing on specific elements I practice is improving me overall. Still along way to go, but you have to start somewhere... Next step, getting a lot more focused on the front sight during shot recovery ( thanks Brian).... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Some great tips, thanks, will give them a try and let you know how I get on. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Have done a bit of a search, but without results so far, so I thought I would ask the question....... Does anyone have any recommendations on drills to work on to improve my split times between shots? Finally took some advice and filmed one of my recent shoots, and the first thing that stood out to me was on relatively close targets (7m) I shot in a real cadence with a split around .35 (didn't feel that slow when I shot it...)........ Always looking at ways to improve, so, having identified a weakness, am looking at ways of working on it.... Thanks In advance Josh Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks mate, getting a lot out of it.
  15. They have their moments - no semi auto rifles or shotguns (makes 3 gun almost up achievable), and handguns limited to 10 shot mags, and no more than . 356 proj (ie 9 mm, 38 super etc) unless specifically approved (for silhouette only). Currently govt looking at a total ban on semi auto pistols...... On top of that, not the acceptance of firearms in the general community for the shooting sports, which can make life a little depressing at times. Doesn't stop me enjoying myself at the range (esp with my new custom 2011 in 357 sig (only way to make major power factor)....
