  1. Besides having my front iron sight mounted at the comp its pretty much just like mine, if this gun was available when I was in the market for one, it would have saved me some build time and money. Nice find, didn't even know they were making this gun.
  2. As you can see its a general term that truly means nothing. In the end you can have a gun that will do most things decent, or what a lot of us have or turn to later on is a platform for different purposes. As for me I started out with a basic 16 inch carbine that became my work gun. I then have a 3 gun rifle for tac irons. I then have a upper for varmint hunting and I am now in the process of building my zombie rifle
  3. "Down Range"? Come on Duane, your a smart guy, think about it.......... I'll give ya a hint, there is lots of sand

    One GM's Glock 24

Looks like you are using a new mag release now as well, any info on that ugly blue thing?
  5. I can attest to that. Everywhere I look I see G19's. Check my location and you will prob understand why. Glock probably can't make enough of them, just about everyone gets one, whether they know how to shoot it or not is another story.
  6. Pretty much, but there are a lot of trigger slappers out there that don't want to have to deal with all that pre travel if they miss the reset and go to far. In the end, and mind you I am a glock shooter, people are trying to get as close as possible to a 1911, which most will agree is the best trigger out there.
  7. Saw your earlier post about you wanting it to cover the front sight completely. Not sure that exists. Most guys run the BT for the 5" and have it stick out the bottom. Always worth a call to BT and see if they can help ya.
  8. yeah I can't decide on a VTAC or a PRI carbon fiber. Obviously the CF would help with the added weight of the suppressor.
  9. Bravo Company, Noveske, LMT, just to name a few.
  10. Bladetech should be able to help you unless you are looking for more retention than that.
  11. A search will bring you lots of results. Just so I'm hearing you right you only want a 2 MOA gun? So this is not for competition? I'm assuming not with those accuracy requirements. If that is the case you can go to 16 legally. If you are willing to get the SBR tax stamp from the ATF you could go even shorter. My current M4 with a 14.5 barrel is 2 MOA. Mating ammo to your particular gun will help as well with that. As for the piston system, I'm not sold on it personally. In my career I have carried several types of SBR full auto AR's, all of them gas guns, all of them worked. I personally can't justify the added cost when I don't see a problem with the original gas system. When its dirty, clean it, not a new concept for guns.
  12. Awesome, that's exactly what I was looking for, so that is a 15 on a 16 for those pics. That is the look I want, now just picture the last 5 inches of barrel in that pic being a suppressor instead of barrel boyz and their toyz Can't wait for the finished product.
  13. Anyone got a pick of what a 15" one looks like on a 16" carbine?
  14. Like it says, building a toy for strictly gee wiz reasons, not for competition. Going to have a 16" barrel and I would like to cover the majority of the barrel with a FF tube. Maybe an inch or so of the end showing, going to mount irons on the end of it. So I know it needs to be longer than the carbine length ones but not sure which one. I have seen just about every length imaginable in my searches in one inch increments from 10 all the way to 15 in length and there are probably longer ones out there. Any guidance would be appreciated.
  15. Things have definitely changed, DS arms has made them bullet proof. As for full auto, I don't think he is going for a class 3. Where is Kelly on this? I know he is a DS fan.
  16. A tricked out DS Arms FAL, made in the USA, made for combat. 308 cal with the ability to accessorize. Second choice would be an AR-10. DS Arms
  17. Yep stock is your best bet for duty, buy some ammo with that money and just get some more trigger time. Stock can still rock.
  18. diddo, which is why I won't use them anymore, I stick to Lone Wolf 3.5 connectors now for all my guns and ones that I work on.
  19. Safe is kind of hard thing to judge. Will these things make it go off on its own, no. Will these things, done correctly, interfere with any of glock's safety systems, no. Could some of these things make the gun less reliable, maybe. I see you mention duty gun so I am assuming you work as an LEO in some fashion possibly. In that case most agencies will not allow aftermarket parts on a gun, will limit their use, or will mandate they be installed by a department or factory armorer. Then you get into the issue of liability. If used in a shoot, even if its a "good" shoot, a defense attorney could turn these things against you after they have the gun inspected by an "expert" witness to say you modified the gun to make it have a lower trigger pull and turn it into you were just itching to shoot someone. Not saying they are right, just saying defense attorney's will turn a mountain into a mole hill for a buck. Just playing devil's advocate here, having worked in that world for quite awhile. Which is why most departments will only allow stock parts on a gun so anything that has to do with the gun itself is turned on the manufacturer and not the department. Again not saying its right, but most of the time that is the way it is.
  20. yep either the connector or the trigger spring, but I assume you checked to make sure the trigger spring was installed correctly and also not broken.
  21. Its about a 4 hour drive from Spokane so might be to far, but he does great work, and it is a pretty drive you could turn it into a weekend getaway . Grizzly Custom Guns
  22. What division are you going to shoot? Where are you going to shoot? This will determine alot. I would assume tactical because it is the cheapest option. Now it depends if you want to shoot tac optic or irons. Depending on what ranges and matches you would shoot at would depend on if you need a long barrel. I know plenty of people that shoot local matches with a standard 16 inch carbine cause the clubs they shoot at your longest shot might me 100 yds or so. If you are gonna hit a club with longer distances or decide to start shooting big matches then you will need a 300 yd gun. That would require an 18 or 20 inch usually. You have to answer these questions first before you can go on to choosing one that will work for you. And yes the search function is your friend here, there are hours of reading for information here.
  23. The reason they went with the coil spring instead of the spring steel was reliability. It was wearing out, and although it adds to the trigger weight, it also helps reset the trigger. Without the coil spring, you are depending on the polymer part to spring back and reset the trigger, could be disastrous, and obviously not recommended by Glock.
  24. Legal, yes. As for better its personal preference I guess. A lot of folks shoot the 35 and 24 in limited for just that reason. I shoot a 35 and I like it better than the 22 for balance, sight radius, etc. Never shot a 24 but there are plenty that do.
