  1. I use Pro Grip. What a mess after a match. But my hands sweat a lot so I need something
  2. So I've been a forum reader for quite some time, but rarely post. This is my third season of USPSA. I shoot open division at 82.8%. I try and shoot 3 times a week including 1 match.
  3. Buy loctite thread prep or acetone to clean the threads. Loctite them and let it set for 24hrs. My red dot mount came off until I prepped the holes/threads
  4. I had the same problem with both my DVC Opens. I switched to the 90 degree mount which solved the problem. I then switched to the micro dots which also hasn't been problematic.
  5. I went from the Cheely 90 degree mount to a DPP on both my open guns. I like how low the cmore 90* is, but I didn't like how long the optic was. That gave me limited space to rack the gun since I don't use a racker. Also, it was just awkward looking and style is 50% of this game... ?
  6. Just an update. I mailed my gun back to STI on June 9th. I received a completely new DVC Open today 2 weeks later. Overall I'm happy. I just need to get my gun drilled for my thumb rest . I'm a lefty...
  7. That's funny you mention that. I have a backup DVC Open. I'm afraid it will do the same thing...
  8. Well hopefully I can get a quick turn around as I go to competitions every weekend... This sucks regardless
  9. What did you have done? My slide isn't cracked, my compensator is.. This will be the third time it's been back to STI for problems
  10. So I noticed a crack forming on my DVC Open 9mm. Maybe 3000 rounds through it. It's cracked where the arrow is pointing in the original posted pic. What's a typical turn around time?
  11. Very well put. I will be there as I am helping run the match.
  12. I feel like all my shooting friends are intimidated. They talk to me about guns all the time, yet come up with tons of excuses on why they won't try USPSA. Maybe it's because I show them videos of me shooting at matches and they see my crazy skillz. This is where you're supposed to laugh.
  13. I recently purchased the STI DVC Open and noticed the same thing described by the OP. I guess I shall order me an Ed Brown stainless steel 70 series grip safety and hope this solves the issue. With that said, I also think I will have to dehorn the thumb safety since I think that is another part of my equation.

    Thumb Rests

It appears to be a slide lock turned into a thumb rest. I'm a southpaw so I'd need a thumb rest on the right side

    Thumb Rests

Something like that. I have a 2011 STI DVC open... Thanks for the input!

    Thumb Rests

What's your thoughts on the RHT thumb rest? They do make a right side thumb rest I could use. I just think it looks like it could break... Maybe I'm wrong..

    Thumb Rests

    Accidentally posted twice...

    Thumb Rests

Those look great and all, but are on the wrong side of the gun for me. All the right side thumb rests I've seen that are made don't look like they are that great IMO. This custom made one shown above in this thread looks sweet!

    Thumb Rests

So this is a really old post... I was wondering if anyone has something on the market like this thumb rest that I haven't been able to find? Any help would be much appreciated.
