  1. The issue with milling the Stock 2 slides is that they don't leave us any material there to mill and drill/tap.
  2. Good to know, guys. Sounds like we'll just make him one and call it a day or refer him to SJC. lol
  3. So a good friend of ours that does a lot of competition shooting is asking about making him a brass weight that would attach to the accesory rail of his Shadow. Is someone already making this? If not, is it something anyone else would be interested in? None of us do competition shooting, so we're going to a group of people who do for these questions - you guys. Lol I suppose the biggest issue would be holster availability for such a thing, but I imagine it would take a tremendous amount of muzzle flip out of a pistol.
  4. We could oversize them, yes. And thay was something we thought about doing from the get-go, but we THOUGHT we'd be doing everyone a favor by not making them break out the file to fit them in. Turns out we would have been better off. It CAN be milled, however, the way the factory mills these with the LPA dovetail and how deep they go with the FPB recess...it's not ideal.
  5. Cerakote is good for about 400F. A bit more if only for short periods. You're going to have to be doing some serious mag dumps to get the barrel that hot.
  6. Thank you sir! We truly appreciate the kind words. We have contemplated continuing making them. But making a product that we know has the possibility to not fit for reasons we can't control isn't something we're OK with.
  7. If working weekends means we don't let our lead times get into the 4+ week area like other places are, that's what we're gonna do.
  8. I have heard of this on a lot of Pro's. Seems to happen more on guns using dovetail mounts where the optics are so far above the bore axis, but I have heard of it happen occasionally on milled slides too. But as for actual optic failures, nope. Edit: I have no stake in this. I personally think the Pros are too big and bulky and they're probably our least favorite optic to mill a slide for lol.
  9. We have customers we milled slides for shooting DP Pros on literally every pistol caliber out there...10mm, hot 9mm....you name it. We've milled well over 100 slides for DP Pros this year alone. I've not heard of a single one with issues.
  10. Check us out when you're ready to have it milled for the RMR. www.primarymachine.com
  11. Graphite black. Thanks for the review Jerome! Shoot the hell out of it now!
  12. No problem! Glad it fit properly. Major pain in the you know what when you're dealing with making a part for guns that apparently have a giant range of acceptable tolerance....
  13. CZ posted a video on their facebook saying they're cranking out 3,000 a month right now. Link to their page with the video for people with facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ceskazbrojovka.CZ/
  14. We're doing a massive close out sale on Stock II (should fit any LPA dovetail) optic mounts. We will no longer be producing them. Once what's in stock is gone - that's it! http://primarymachine.com/tanfoglio-stock-ii-optic-mount/

Thanks. We can do yours just like it.
  16. Like I said before, if you decide you want a refund, do not hesitate to let me know. With that said, I'm glad you were able to make it work as I know you didn't want to return it.
  17. This was our first thought but didn't want to jump to that conclusion.
  18. Figured I'd ask here as some of you are much more familiar with Tanfoglio's than any of us at the shop are. Is there some point that they had slightly different LPA dovetails in their slides? I was under the impression that LPA dovetails were a standard thing, but I'm beginning to think I may be incorrect? I'm bringing this up because we have had a couple customers have fitment issues with their optic mounts we made. The fitment on the slide we had in hand to prototype from was such that the mounts went in about 25% of the way by hand, then had to finish being installed with a punch, which is exactly what we were going for. While most of the customers who received their mounts had theirs fit exactly like this, a few others had issues with the mounts sliding right into the dovetail with no resistance at all. I know for a fact it isn't the mounts themselves, as every single one was checked to be within +/-.001" on all dovetail dimensions. One thing that came to mind, which may have absolutely nothing to do with the problem, is that the customers who had loose fitment all had to beat the absolute crap out of their factory sights to get them out. Perhaps Tanfo is slightly deforming the dovetails when they pound the sights in rather than fitting them to the slide? I don't know. I'm at a loss and really trying to get to the bottom of the hit and miss fitment.
  19. Of you are concerned about urns a new dovetail can be milled. 90% of people we mill slides for aren't worried about irons as they are using the guns for range use and/or competition only.
