  1. Haven’t heard much good at all on them in terms of durability.
  2. Haha nice, I love to see guns we did actually dirty and used. Venom crossed my mind too, but it seems like everywhere I turn the Deltapoint Pro and RMR seem to always be talked about as the two most durable.
  3. RMR is what I’d be using if I didn’t also have to buy a $180 1911 adapter plate that has rear sights made on it I don’t want and a front sight I can’t use even if I wanted to use the rear. Lol
  4. We have a few customers with over 30k. But the huge majority don’t seem to be going passed 6-10k.
  5. So that’s still the go to? Lol jist replace every ~8k or so rounds (if you’re lucky) and live with it?
  6. I’ll be milling the slide for my personal SP-01 soon. Was pretty set on a Deltapoint Pro but there’s just way too much mixed stuff for me to be confident in it. We have customers who report failures from as soon as 3k rounds to some over 30k. Doesn’t exactly instill confidence in an optic. Trijicon RMR would be my number 1 go-to, but it’s too wide for an SP-01 slide without Trijicons ridiculously priced and ugly 1911 RMR adapter. i keep reading people are putting Romeo 3’s on slide ride guns. It seems like I don’t read much good about the Romeo 1’s. Are the 3’s better and what kind of round count do people have on them?
  7. I know they aren’t purpose shot for accuracy. But that doesn’t change the fact that it shot a 1.3” group does it? Not being a smart ass, asking in case I’m missing something...lol Test target shows three shots at 25 meters measuring a 33mm (1.3”) dispersion.
  8. It's a brand new gun, and I'm more than happy with it's accuracy based on the test target it came with. lol At this point, the only reason I could see it being worth the 10X bushing is because it's supposed to be harder than the OEM bushing. Which brings me to my questioning of the discrepancies of reported OEM bushing life. People claim 10k rounds they develop slop. Then you read guys with 50-60k rounds saying their OEM bushing is still perfectly tight and no losses of accuracy.
  9. Debating on putting a CGW 10X bushing in mine while they have it... The gun shot a 1.3” group at 25 meters from CZ according to test target - so I highly doubt the bushing would improve on that accuracy. However, I keep reading way too much different stuff on the OEM bushing life. Some people claiming within 10K rounds they developed slop. Which I don’t understand because there’s guys with 60k+ rounds on one oem bushing with zero complaints about slop developing or loss of accuracy. What’s the real story here?
  10. Well, I ordered the Discretion. Super excited. I'll do a small written review (and possibly video review?) if anyone is interested in hearing about it from someone who isn't really a 1911 person. lol
  11. I'm still not quite convinced on spending money on the Wilson. Pretty set on saving for the DW Discretion. Just doesn't seem by most accounts that I'm getting 2X the gun buying a Wilson over DW. For half the price DW is offering a hand fit gun with no MiM parts. Sure, maybe I'll be missing out on that extra mile of the extra blending from Wilson...but that, to me, isn't worth another $1500-$2,000...
  12. Not into stainless anyway. I'm looking hard at the Discretion which has their black "Duty Finish" on it. From what I've read it's considerably more durable than most finishes on the market.
  13. That's Dan Wesson territory (as far as price) though. And my understanding is after all that, it still won't be the quality/fit/finish that DW puts in. I thought of doing the RO and just putting $300-$500 into it. But at the end of the day the better route sounds to be ponying up the money for the DW and being done with it. Right out the box great fit, great finish, no MiM parts, etc.
  14. I figure if that's what it takes to get it up to par, I may as well spend $300-$400 more for the Dan Wesson and have the better fit, finish, and no MiM parts.
  15. Some guys on another forum are telling me I should save a few more pennies and go for a Dan Wesson. Which is what I'm beginning to lean to. It's more than I wanted to spend on a gun that will ultimately only ever be a range toy, but it sounds like the DW may be worth it for the extra hand fitting they do, no MIM parts, etc.
  16. Hey guys, I’m seeking advice on a possible 1911 purchase. Ive been saying I want to buy a Wilson Combat (Protector specifically) for a while now. But I have an opportunity to pick up a Springfield Range Officer Elite with the light rail in 9mm for $850. Would I be regretting this choice? What more am I getting with the Wilson for roughly 4x the price? Is there something else I should look at in this price range in 9mm and with a light rail?
  17. I didn't try the AM striker in another slide. If it doesn't work with OEM we have an issue. We're not going to burn time troubleshooting an aftermarket part that may or may not be in spec. And in this case certainly points to the aftermarket striker being out of spec.
  18. Was able to finally get out and test fire it today with an OEM striker. Worked 100% fine. Whatever aftermarket striker he had in it was the problem. Really appreciate everyone's input!
  19. Frame internals are 100% stock. That was the first thing I checked.
  20. Something like this is exactly what I was thinking. He's got an aftermarket striker in it. (I don't know what brand). But the striker face that catches the crucible isn't shaped exactly like an OEM striker. I didn't have an OEM striker with me when I tested the gun, but I think the next step is to put an OEM one in and see if that cures it.
  21. I've got a customers Glock here that of the years I've been milling, gunsmithing, etc Glocks...I can't think of what's going on with. He bought one of our slides which are milled from blanks. By absolutely every measurement I can get to with mics, the slide is 100% in spec against several OEM slides. (And if it were out of spec, it would be the first in hundreds we've sold that was.) Upon test firing, the gun has a dead trigger on second shot...EVERY time. If I hand cycle the slide, the trigger resets and the gun will fire a single round. It will feed the next round with zero issues, gun is 100% in battery, etc. But trigger is dead (didn't reset) again. This happens EVERY time on the second shot. The frame is 100% stock. I don't know what the hell is going on with it... Frame is 100% stock and I have double and triple checked that he had everything assembled properly in case he ever messed with anything and re installed something wrong. Cliffs: - Gun will fire first round - Gun will feed second round perfectly fine, 100% in battery - Trigger is dead (no reset) on the second round EVERY time - Hand cycle and the gun will spit the unfired round out, trigger will reset, and gun will fire fine - repeat the above...lol
  22. Both my 2.0's are using the OEM trigger spring with the FSS kit. They're both right under 3lbs and break is still incredibly crisp. Easily the nicest striker trigger money can buy.
  23. Send to us for black nitride. Surface hardness is insane, but can rust if you're not the type that keeps up with a good coat of oil on your stuff.
  24. You know as simple and easy as that is...it didn’t cross my mind...derp...
