  1. You have to have a license to drive but anyone can reproduce. Maybe we should license reproduction or at least go back to public exicutions.
  2. Locking back with one round left in the mag was an either and or problem, Followers and or slide stop. Set it up the way you want it and its not a hard fix. Like said new slide stop, check the clerence with mag, follwer and bullets. Tune as required or you may just have to change the mag followers.
  3. Had a brand new one come in the shop about 2 weeks ago with a very hard trigger pull. Simple fix, trigger bow was bent. Others I have worked on looked to be very good pistols, but from everything I hear they are good or bad, seems to be little in between.

    Idiots

    Well said sig lady
  6. I think the OSHA level is something like 24 or 25. They told me I was close to the level where I would not be alowed to work but a year later it was down to something like 15, yes I had quit shooting at that range.
  7. You are being overly sensative to your exposure level. Check with your doctor and have a blood lead level test done. Years and years ago I shot at an indoor range, virtyally no ventilation and it took over a year of weekly practice sessions (about 3 hours per) for my lead blood level to raise from 12 to 22. Reason I know is because I had a job where my blood was tested yearly and one of the tests they ran was blood level.
  8. General public drives prices, not competition......it's all on what someone is willing to pay....if NO ONE is willing to pay the price, the price will drop. If one person has something everyone uses, they will set the price as high as they can. If 20 pople have it will the price be as high? Consumers effect supply which effects price as well. For non us oil there are a lot of hands in the pot. Land owner (OPEC), pipeline co, terminal owner, tanker owner, off loading terminal owner, marketer, pipeline owner, refiner, distributor, station and then throw in the speculators who drive up prices by holding spot contracts. If GM came out with a car that ran on water what would happen to oil, it would be worthless but the water companies would raise there price. I could go into greater detail on the oil industry (I wrote a thesis on it) but I wont, it makes my head hurt. I am done, need humor, need humor now.
  9. My sister works for an oil company. Here is the way it works. Oil company sells gas at the rack for say 1.00 a gallon. 3c profit The distributor sells it to the gas station for 1.50 or more. 25c profit The station sells it for 2.00 or more. 25c profit If the distributor owns gas stations, he makes 50c profit. Oil company make profit on volume, they may sell to 50 distributors. Its like everything else the middle men make the big bucks and compition drives prices. I dont like it anymore than anyone else but unless you want to live in a socialist or communist country thats the way it is.

    Grrl On Men

I agree tightloop, but I do like young Skywalkers thought of keeping them in the cellar. Reminds me of a movie I once made, I mean saw.
  11. Since you havent done this before, use a hand file. I have seen several home jobs where the dremel tool got away from people. Also take the time to remove the grip from the frame, easyer to work with and see what you are doing, you also dont have to worry about getting plastic in your gun.

  13. I dont have any problems with Berrys out of my 35, 22 or 19 and crimp about .001 with Tightgroup. I like the 180 FP RS amd the FP best.
  14. 25 bucks to file a suit in small clames court and they have to come to where you file. Dont need a lawyer, just fill out a form and bingo.
  15. Who do you think makes the best primers? Win, Fed, CCI Ect. And why do you think they are the best?
  16. Try Locktite gel super glue. Take a small piece of wood or metal, preferably tapered to fith the screw slot and place a drop of the gel glue on the wood or metal let it set for 30 sec. and the carefully place it on the screw. Dont force it or you could spread the glue.
  17. First pole, who knew. As someone who has had a rifle turn to scrap metal (South America ammo issued by the government to there troops), I really hope people are storing there powder and primers correctly. Its not fun having pieces of hot metal invading your personal space.
  18. After a recent post on the loading bench thread I got to wondering how many people used refrigerators and it they had them turned on or not.

  21. I saw a primer tube that had holes drilled in it, layout was a screw pattern. Not sure if you could tell if the primers were upside down or not.

    Prison Vs. Work

Just in case you ever get these two environments mixed up, this should make things a little bit clearer. IN PRISON..........you spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell. AT WORK...........you spend the majority of your time in an 8X8 cubicle. IN PRISON.........you get three meals a day. AT WORK..........you get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it. IN PRISON..........you get time off for good behavior. AT WORK...........you get more work for good behavior. IN PRISON..........the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you. AT WORK...........you must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself. IN PRISON..........you can watch TV and play games. AT WORK...........you could get fired for watching TV and playing games. IN PRISON.........you get your own toilet. AT WORK..........you have to share the toilet with some people who peed on the seat. IN PRISON...........they allow your family and friends to visit. AT WORK............you aren't even supposed to speak to your family. IN PRISON.........all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required. AT WORK..........you get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners. IN PRISON..........you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out. AT WORK ..........you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars. IN PRISON........ you must deal with sadistic wardens. AT WORK...........they are called managers.
  24. If you insist on joining the dark side. Here are some helpfull tips Keep your files chalked and clean often. Buy the best files you can. Buy a handle, try it to see if your files feels better with a handle or not, control issue and some files will hate you and want to put holes in your hands for no reason. Take your time Remember there are no perfect jobs only near perfect. Daves #4, If you dont wear glasses you may want to get some magnification glasses, helps with fine tuning details. A guide or fixture is only as good as the person setting it up. Dykem (sp) blue will help when laying out your starting line on SS. You are doing the right thing by reading everything you can. Practice practice practice. Learn to accept pain, frustration and tedium with a smile. Good luck and dont say you were not warned. But then again it didnt seem so bad when I was doing it on my guns. PS: Brownells used to have double, tripple and more checkering files that can be helpful laying out the rows.
